"the school was good till i visited my sons parents evening. during my talk with a leng english teacher, i started to get the urge of needing to urinate. upon entering the toilets, i was confrunted by what looked to be a small chap wearing all black. due to the fact im a 7'2 bodybuilder i became wedged in the cubicle. i was then forced to strip by the young lad and became violently bummed as i tried to scream for help. aside from this, schools brill. my child has became bradfords pablo escobar due to dealing at the back of photography class"
"Great School, moved my son here in year 10, he made more progress in 12 months than he did in nearly 3 years at his previous school."
"I enjoyed this place as a visit during a visit even though I didn't know everyone that goes there as I didn't attend it. But it was a good place. Loved it."
"No support for my daughter who was suffering mental health issues, they just shut her away in the hub. No call back from staff when I trying to sort out the situation for 8 months. Glad she is no longer there."
"having 3 children in Appleton Academy it has become apparent to me that pupil discipline is sadly well below what many parents would consider acceptable. There seems to be a large section of the pupil body of which the teaching staff are afraid to confront regarding behavior which is not only against school policy but in many instances against the law. This was highlighted to me by 1 pupil who had gone as far as putting a complaint in writing regarding the use of toilets as a smoking area and felt she was unfairly treated by the school as the response she received was to be laughed at by a teacher and told there was nothing she or they could do about the matter. After several violent incidents had occurred in school with 1 of our children it was stated to my partner and myself that the school couldn't be expected to guarantee pupil safety while in school and that WE were unreasonable in feeling they should be able to, even though one of the stated aims of the school is to offer a safe environment in which pupils can learn. These are only a small example of the concerns I have regarding the school and based on past experience I certainly feel that the situation can only deteriorate further owing to those who failed to address past concerns now holding higher positions within the staff hierarchy. Overall I feel the school has failed and is continuing to fail the majority of pupils who wish to gain a reasonable level of education and are willing to make the effort to make a difference to themselves and their future prospects"
