"We took the ferry from Portaferry & walked through the caravan park and round Castle Audley and Castle Ward, the sunken garden is lovely and the views are beautiful. There was a great tea-room too were you can eat inside or out and the staff were really pleasant & helpful, there was also a gift shop, a book shop and stables (not sure if horses were resident). If nothing else the walk was a good one, taxing enough but not hard with no steep hills or stiles. Loved it, will definitely be going back at some point."
"Beautiful place to visit. Lovely welcome as soon as we arrived from the lady checking our passes. She set the tone for a great visit, and all the other guides, volunteers and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. They added a lot of happiness to our day. Nice café, and there are plenty of seats outside in the sheltered stable yard. House and gardens are delightful with stunning views over Strangford Lough. Thoroughly enjoyed our day. Visited on Friday 19th August 2022."
"Lovely House and Grounds. The day I went there, it was a living history day; however, if you didn't actually have a question, they didn't talk to you. The house itself is beautiful but for £30 I would've like to have seen more rooms, a lot is closed off. The jazz band was great! I would definitely get there early; there's a lot to see!"
"Was pretty disappointed with the NT with this one, okay so we arrived fairly late in the day around 3pm and were still charged £20 to park and visit the property. However the house was closed, so we went for a walk around the grounds and got back to find the gift shop and tea room closed at 4pm. Would recommend parking near Audley's Castle and save the money that the NT are charging to park at Castle Ward."
"Arrived a bit late but coffee shop open very friendly staff had time for shop then bookstore where I purchased a local guide book of county Down s antiquities Lots to visit in future. Short walk in gardens few rests leaning on fence/walls admired views. No interior house visit today."
