Reviews
"Very, very cold. Had a quick drink and moved on...a shame as it's clearly steeped in history. Would have been nuce to see either of the inglenook fireplaces in use"
"Fantastic old historic pub with listed interior dating back to before English Civil War. It was here that at the city officials decided to lock King Charles the First out of the city, leading to the start of the Civil War. Good selection of hand-pulled real ales that change on a regular basis, nice covered drinking area, food served upstairs. Highly recommended."
"Beautiful architecture absolutely loved this pub."
"Good historical pub, but the back room could be finished off a bit more where the little bar was... The hanging baskets used to be beautiful, but there are non this year... Hope they put but of effort in and get the hanging baskets back."
"Old school historic pub built in 1550. Located down a narrow alley, this is an oak paneled, dark, cozy pub. Limited beer selection but the gins were spot on."
