"4 years now my heating hasn't been working properly, I have to get up an hour before my son to keep putting it on as it constantly trips off and the weather requires heating again! The pump continues to use my electric even when not heating the water in the radiators so I have to be extra vigilant especially with the high electric prices, as a disabled single parent with epilepsy the stress of this has me in tears and still I am waiting for them to fix/replace the system, I can't take much more or I'm going to the papers about this!"
"I'd be exceptionally careful with this housing Association. They are the worst I've ever rented from. Screen neighbours carefully before you move in. Complaints of Discrimination/harassment are rarely followed up ignoring complaints is common with other tenants( not following their own policies ) is pretty serious. They will fob you off until you go to outside agency for help."
"It's not easy to rate this because of covid19 as it is closed, but you can phone and make an arrangement to pass on documents or pick up paperwork and you are not allowed inside. So make your arrangements when the weather is fine because there is no shelter. I made an arrangement to meet an employee, but when I got there she was not on the premises."
"Horrible social housing company don't care about resident noise at 3 am is classed acceptable noise strongly advise against anyone renting from these cowboys. the housing officer Claire Reith breached data protection and they refused to do anything about clerk of works advised me to commit insurance fraud after Grampians contractor damaged a brand new carpet all in all I would avoid at all costs"
"I live in a Mid Market Rent property with Grampian Housing. Lived there for a year and a half so far with my wife and personally we've found them a delight to deal with. The place was a brand new, purpose built flat in a development consisting of 8 flats. We have a door to our own, in what you would call a ground-floor maisonette. It is beautifully finished and it was the perfect place for our first home together. We are and were at the time quite picky about where we lived and what we wanted it to look like. We were fortunate enough to be able to stay with family for a few years, which just gave us some time to get our bearings before taking the decision to strike out on our own and the property, development and area in which we decided to stay in couldn't have been better. It is ideallic, practical, efficient and economical especially for a very young couple. Grampian Housing (especially Allison) laid out all the expectations early doors, made us aware of everything we would be expected to do and understood our desire to make sure we did right by ourselves and by the association. Everything was very organised with all the paperwork being given to us promptly, and on the day of collection of the keys - we paid the necessary payment and thereafter it was just a case of them leaving us to our own devices. We are updated very promptly via email in regards to anything connected with the property, work on the property etc. We keep ourselves to ourselves so we don't see our neighbours, as we work shift work and do so full-time we don't have a lot of interaction with anyone, which is how we like it. There have been no issues with the neighbours at all, and in the development we are in, we would expect no less. If we ever have any queries regarding the property, all is needed is a quick email and it is followed up within the next few days, if that. The only issues we have with the association per se (and by issues I mean things we would like to be allowed to do that we are unable to or are more cumbersome to do) are: The fact that they do not allow pets in the property (and as we are surrounded by mortgaged homes it is unfair in our opinion that we have to see other families own pets and we are unable to) The second is that if we wish to modify anything in the property there are a series of steps that need to be taken in order to do this, ultimately leading to a decision on whether the alteration(s) in question can be granted. The third is that they do not allow DSS as a form of payment for their properties, as I know of someone who would benefit from living in the same complex as me but due to this factor would be unable to do so, which is a shame as it would be beneficial for us all. We knew that this was going to be the case before accepting the property, however these are things we still wish we were able do and have. Hence the reason why I have not rated them 5 stars as that takes something away personally for us and we frequently wish we were able to have an animal (dog) in the property and that our close relatives could live next to us. However; we understand fully the reasons for these decisions by the association and respect them, but it does cause us some unhappiness at times. All in all, I'd say that Grampian Housing provide exceptional "customer service" if that's the correct word for it, and I'd say that they are the premier Housing Association in Aberdeen based on our experience with mid-market rent. They are very well known in Aberdeen and they cater to a large demographic and a large population of the city between social housing, private rent and shared ownership - we have complete confidence that they will be around for a long time to come and would reccomend to anyone who likes beautifully designed homes and efficient and competent service from a reliable Landlord."
