"Like other reviews I would give this practice a 0 if I could. The trained medical staff are wonderful but trying to get an appointment to see one of them is nigh on impossible. I was told by a very rude and patronising receptionist, who was incorrectly reading my mothers notes ( why should she, when she isn’t a trained medic???) to call 111 or 999 for my 86 year old mother, struggling to breathe with a chest infection. The paramedic who had seen her on Sunday had told us to get seen by the GP within two days if she hadn’t started to improve. The misinformation and attitude of untrained, uncaring first point of call staff is unacceptable, unnecessary and unbelievable. Get your act together Tutbury and sort out your processes and training, otherwise most of your customers will be dead - or is that what you want?"
"Have been with The Tutbury Practice for about 2.5 years now. Always been able to get appointments for myself and my family, they send reminders for routine appointments and the receptionists and doctors are always so friendly (despite the abuse they're bound to get from some clients!). Maternity services are also great. Continue the great work, I know it isn't easy for the NHS anymore x"
"Not needed an appointment for years. Tried to get an appointment for my son, after my wife and I tried for 3 days, taking time off work each day to do so, we ended up taking him to A&E as his chest infection had got worse. Got seen within an hour and had medication. Not sure what service this practice now provides working families. It's not the fault of the staff, just the service is not fit for the increased population."
"I moved here 3 years ago and the comparison to my previous practice in Lincolnshire is remarkable. The reception staff here are all helpful, friendly and kind. The GPs and nurses are the same. They are approachable and actually seem to care and appear interested. The appointment system is frustrating, but this appears to be a National problem. One criticism would be the music you hear whilst on hold . . . It certainly doesn’t help with any frustrations you may feel. Overall experience of the service is very good"
"Would give 0 stars if posdible. Booking an appointment is virtually impossible. My wife received a text from the surgery asking her to book an appointment to discuss recent MRI scan results. She has now tried to book an appointment on 4 consecutive days spending over 4 hours on the phone only to be told each time there are no appointments available! Yet the surgery regularly closes for 1/2 day for staff training, that time would be much better spent seeing patients. Is it any wonder hospital A&E depts are overwhelmed. Come on Tutbury practice you could do a lot better."
