"Like many, I was required to book a fit to fly test to travel abroad. I was leaving on boxing day at 4pm, the country I was visiting only accepted tests completed 48 hours before departure. I therefore had to book a test after 4pm on Christmas Eve. I booked this with DAM health and was charged £70. The day before my test, I received an email from DAM health Stoke, explaining that due to being short staffed, they would be closing at 2.30pm on Christmas eve and anyone with a test booked after that time would need to arrive for a test between 9am - 2pm. This would make my test invalid for the time I was booked to depart the UK. My travel arrangements were now impossible. The other issue I had was that the email sent to explain their early closure, was sent in such a way that every single patients email address was clearly visible to me and therefore my email address made available to them too. This is clearly a breach of data confidentiality. I called DAM health to discuss this as soon as I received the email. After a 40 minute wait, I got through to a lady and explained that due to their last minute closing time change, my booked travel arrangements were ruined and that they had wrongly disclosed my data to others. I felt that I was due some degree of compensation, as DAM health's actions had meant that I would loose a considerable amount of money from having to rearrange travel bookings. I explained this to the lady on the phone, whose immediate response, was that I would not receive any compensation. I told her that this was not good enough, to which she replied that she would need to speak to a colleague to find out what could be done and that she would call me back shortly. I was anxious that no such call would be made and therefore asked how long I should expect to wait for a call back. I was promised just 10 minutes. Sure enough, I never received a call back. The next day, I had no choice but to turn up for my test between the times they set out. Upon arrival I gave my details to the 3 members of staff on reception (short staffed?), to which one replied, asking me if I had emailed. Clearly my email had been received and they were aware of my issue. I was at this point told that despite the time being around 10am, they would write it up as being the original time of 4pm. Clearly at this point it was far too late to rescue my travel plans anyway, as I had already had to pay for new travel arrangements. It did also raise a general concern over the companies integrity. Ive now sent 3 emails to discuss these issues, not one has been responded to. I've been extremely disappointed by this company at every stage. I can't imagine the amount of money they are making from these tests and I would have expected a professional level of customer service in return. As it is, I've received just the opposite, been ignored and left out of pocket. Credit where it's due, the staff who carried out the actual test were proficient and the test result arrived promptly. Sadly, that's about as far at the positives go."
"When reading reviews after I had made a booking I was very worried. However the Stoke on Trent branch was excellent. The staff were very friendly and efficient and answered all of my questions. I had the results back within 7 hours of the test which was earlier than expected. I will not hesitate to use this branch again. Well done to the staff and many thanks for a job well done."
