"Over 8 hours just to be seen plus hours of slow tests! 35 hour wait for a bed."
"Came in with a bad burn and they are excellent, professional, caring and kind. Seen quickly and good regular follow-up care"
"Hardly anyone in a&e last night but over 12 hour wait. Some people had been waiting over 12 hours. No updates and no information given. A lot gave up and went home said they’d call an ambulance instead. It was awful. Basically they triage you. You aren’t dying so your just left till you give up. I was an urgent gp referral. I went home at 4am having been there over 12 hours. When I left the nurse told me to write to the trust. He said they’d tried to tell the management they’re failing Katie yes but not interested."
"My wife had a bad cough with much catarrh etc. Getting an appointment with our GP as easy as a satanist being blessed by the Pope. NHS 111 trip lead to call back by nurse, then doctor, then visit to SEE him in a Sunday at 11.15pm. Checks, diagnosis, prescription, advice to get a COVID PCR test ( Lateral Flow Test not reliable) back home in bed by Midnight. I know the NHS make mistakes but I’ve always been happy with a hospital’s treatment."
"Waited here 11 hours for urgent help for sudden part vision loss from ongoing neuropathy of unknown cause. Left unable to speak properly recently with worsening confusion, weeks of seizures and neurogenic stammer for 2 months which is severe. Short term memory loss where i couldnt plan, or finish my sentences. Unable to explain my symptoms properly or defend myself. I had worsening gasping for breath and heart problems in episodes for many months & where ive been close to collapsing in recent days, unable to function and ended up calling NHS 111 for advice and told them some of my symptoms and they insisted on an ambulance and sent it. 11 hrs waiting they managed one blood test and told me because id suffered neurologic symptoms for 15 years which apparently because this had been going on a certain length of time it was no longer considered an emergency, and upon hearing this and not being given opportunity to speak, by their junior doctor that was trying to consign me to being content with going blind from a severe neuropathy attack and casually wait for neurology She waffled for several minutes about how all the covid patients are here from the Stoke hospital as well which means they dont have facilities or drs to do tests now. Because my CBC test was normal she said that they "cant" do anything to test for my sudden vision loss, and to wait for neurology referral I interjected with my bloods are fine but i have waited here 11 hours for you to refuse to run appropriate tests on me for sudden vision loss. She then cheekily responded muttering about how i hadn't let her finish. Clearly incredibly wrapped up in herself, audacity and arrogance of this woman. All she had to say was I'll get a senior doctor to explain this to you and she left me sat there for almost an hour. She left because she did not want to take accountability for what she had just tried to do The senior doctor she went to did not have a shred of empathy or compassion at all and spoke to me as if i was dirt on his shoe, tried to contradict everything i was explaining & downright cold Did not respond when i explained my vision loss and said if i am looking at him when im speaking then my vision loss can't be as bad as what i am saying. He told me they wont do tests, and then when i questioned it, now that they can't. That a&e does not do tests for neurological symptoms such as neuropathy, for example lumbar punctures or nerve conduction tests (i was struggling to walk with ataxia) Even when they called me to ophthalmology room for this discussion where they could have tested my vision there and then Just to clarify the vision loss was worse in my left eye and both eyes were affected. I couldnt see my own hands or tell what colours were properly, as was dimmed that much. Could barely make out faces, i was looking at him does not mean I've not had vision loss and it shouldnt mean i have to have full vision loss to be entitled to tests, that is absolutely disgusting conduct from this hospital. Vision loss happened suddenly. This type of callous attitude from this dr i am absolutely appalled by. To be insinuated a liar or exaggerating is the worst type of response when you are distressed yet trying to keep collected and hope they will help when you They have not run one relevant test for the vision loss, only told me to cover eye with hand on two occasions, didn't even offer me hand sanitizer. Didn't give an damn about me catching covid nor about me I was utterly dismissed and never rude and was spoken down to and left for 11 hrs I did not speak out of term at all, dr had a superiority complex & did not like to be questioned over sending me away untested He coldly asked me if i had relatives picking me up, wheeled me out into the patient waiting room facing the wall, and walked off. Over me challenging being dismissed and palmed off for vision loss amongst symptoms I cant explain how distressed i am and felt suicidal when i left a&e at their attitude towards me Writing this review due to the attitude towards me as described. Worst of the worst"
