"God bless them. Staff and DOCTOR'S was very helpful , friendly and supportive all the time."
"Attended an appointment for laser treatment assessment today 30 March 2022. The external appearance in an industrial estate belied the interior which is impressive, plenty of space and well-equipped. From the ground floor reception, the attention of staff was impeccable - I am 92 and was helped every step of the way, shown to the lift and told where to go. Jackie was splendid on the vision check and could not fault the Optometrist Consultant, Ebiye Beedle who made a thorough examination and explained each step and conclusion in easy language. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Highly recommended."
"My husband had his cataract operation here yesterday. He said it was clean and very covid secure. He also said that the staff were lovely. His procedure was behind because of a computer problem in the morning putting all the operations late. No ones fault, these things happen. I stayed in the car for the 3 hours he was gone, went prepared with book and sandwiches and a blanket. Upon my husband leaving the receptionist asked my husband if I would like to use the toilet before we departed, which I gladly took up. Cant fault them. Would recommend."
"I have only as yet come for my assessment but have several concerns. First many older people are driven by other older people who then are not allowed in and have to wait in their cars in a carpark on an industrial estate for three hours or longer with no toilets or refreshment facilities. There is no warning about this and clearly some people in the car park were having difficulties because of this . I think this is something you should provide and this would be provided in other NHS establishments. Additionally when asked about pre op sedation i was told by the nurse that I had to organise this with my own GP and had to take it 45 mins before re the op . Your information implies that any sedation would be organised on site. A friend who has just had her operation with you was not told anything about sedation beforehand but asked on the day and was told if she wanted it her operation would be delayed by 45 mins. It would be helpful if your guidance about sedation was clear and upfront. The same nurse also told me i need to self isolate for 10 days before the procedure. When i asked about fixing a date i was told it had to be within the next 2 weeks so in reality i was only offered a 4 day window because of the need to self isolate first. I couldn't take this up because of existing commitments and i am sure many people would be in the same position. I would be helpful for all patients to be able to book further ahead. I would like to say however that all the staff who did my assessment could not have been more helpful and professional."
