"Was in with a small group of friends a few months ago on a Thursday night was nice and quiet The bar staff and one bouncer were great the drink and vibe was good but unfortunately the whole place was let down by the one bouncer called ray never have I ever been screamed and shouted at also the threat of violence of an uncalled for attack and the sheer arrogance self entitlement of the man was unbelievable honestly if small man syndrome was a picture it would be him. If said person didn’t work in security the world be a bit safer"

"Hairy Dog is one of the safest places in derby no matter what your background is. Brilliant atmosphere, amazing staff and door staff who actually care about you. A wide range of gigs on almost every night there is some bad on that you can see. Couldn't think of a better place to go in derby for chill drinks, hanging with mates or a gig. I may not live in city centre but this place is my local and I will go out of my way to go there."

"First time being out in Derby, and was with a group of friends out for Halloween (about 10 of us) The Hairy Dog offers a range of options for music and entertainment, offering room with a DJ, another with live music, as well as an arcade room with pool tables and arcade machines. There are multiple bars to get your bevvies in, and there's even an outside area for smokers and some fresh air. After the live band have finished, the room opens up to karaoke, so even more fun to be had."

"Went to see A Flock Of Seagulls a few weeks ago. First time at this venue. Superb from the quality of sound, great range of beers and fantastic band. Met the owner and told him so. He asked me to write a review. A bit late but here it is. If you have never visited, I advise anyone to do so. Great night. I will return. Thank you."

"Incredible venue! Went for Outrun the Sun 2021 gig for a 12 hour session, was not disappointed. Drinks were good, it was clean and tidy and the gig itself was amazing. Great place"
