"The Consulate is well staffed, but the facilities can't hold it any longer. Given the number of requests and paperwork they seem to need to deal with on a daily basis, the Consulate would need bigger and better facilities. However, the staff was very helpful and they resolved my admin work properly. I got clear information and I got in and out within 30 minutes. They do their best with the resources they have, and it's not their bad that our Ministry of Foreign Affairs won't get them a better place to carry out their work. Overall, happy with the experience, they managed my expectations well."
"I would give 0 starts if possible. The service is always a joke. I’m a Spanish citizen because of my family but I wasn’t born there and my Spanish is not very good specially if talking to a native and every time I go there they treat me badly for not speaking or understanding Spanish and refuse to speak English even if we are in England. Besides the rudeness my last experience was also a joke. They refused to renew my passport because apparently my birth certificate that I’ve been using for over 20 years is expired? All of that just so I would have to make my mom in another country go to the consulate to ask for a new one and for them to send the same exact certificate just with writing in diferente colour pen but ok I understand is procedure. Then the guy that unfortunately didn’t catch the name because was a TOTAL displeasure to talk to him gave me an email and said that appointments are limited for a period of time so send an email and we’ll book an appointment for you just so they answer that they CANT book appointment and I have to wait a month before making another appointment. Honestly I don’t understand how it is so difficult to communicate properly and treat people nicely and SPEAK ENGLISH. The guy refused until the last moment to explain the things in English when I told him twice I could not understand what he was saying because my Spanish is not very good. Congratulations, an absolute displeasure every time."
"They are simply the best if I can say being realistic. I have my trip planned to Spain in one months time and couldn’t get an appointment with the BLS Spain visa centre, even after 2 weeks of creating my application. I just emailed the consulate and they forwarded my request to the right department and I got my appointment booked for the next week. Can’t thank enough as all the accommodations and travel is already booked. Kudos to the team!!"
"I am really happy with the service provided particularly from one lady at the consulate ( I won't name her here for obvious reasons). For us, the recovery of our nationality (8 of us!) was initially very complicated, we simply didn't understand the process. Naturally, every situation is different, therefore every application will be different too. Since the website has been upgraded with much clearer instructions on which forms to use etc the whole process has become much clearer and easier to access. That said, when we submitted our applications this wasn't the case but, thanks to this one lady, she helped us navigate the process with patience and professionalism throughout . We are extremely grateful to her for her assistance. The only issue I have with the "system" is that my 83 year old wheelchair bound mother had to travel from her home in Dorset to Central London to renew her passport and getting her up those stairs was not easy! It is a pity that there isn't a service for disabled nationals where a representative can go to them to complete the necessary paperwork even if there were a cost involved"
"The process for getting an appointment and actually being there was fantastic. The team was extremely efficient and helpful and made my experience truly stress free. Make sure once you have your appointment that you read all the paperwork. You need originals and photocopies of some things for them to keep. MUST WEAR A FACE MASK. If you do your homework prior to your visit, it will be plain sailing."
