"I was with this dentist for 10 years and every time I went I had a different dentist. Turns out I was getting the trainees for the past 10 years! The unnecessary work I have had done and the complete incompetence of these dentists was never more clear than my first appointment after covid. I was devastated by the consultation- being told I need four teeth out immediately, another’course’ of gum treatment. The four to be removed? I was told I would have to look at implants as the only way to save my smile. This by a dentist who had been at Uni on an engineering course and rather than leave Uni, wanted to stay in education and so trained as a dentist! A complaint to the practice gave a response that I ‘upset the dentist who treated me’! Since found another practice and the consultation there was very, very different. God awful practice that will rinse you for every penny you have"
"Went for my first check up since covid began, lovely friendly receptionists and my new dentist Elaine and her dental nurse were very patient with my anxiety , I wont say im looking forward to my next appointment but I certainly dont think i will be as nervous. Thank you all."
"Awful. They cancelled my appointment twice. I've been waiting for 2 months to get my painful wisdom tooth out. They called on the day to cancel; however, when I missed my appointment, I had to pay for the time I wasted. Surely, my time was wasted too and I could have done it else where"
"£60 cancellation fee for not wanting to vomit on the dentist during my appointment !!! I've been with this dental clinic for well over 10 years and have never once missed an appointment. Today I had to phone and cancel on the day because I spent the entire night vomiting (suspected food poisoning) and thought it was best I do not attend my appointment in case I had to vomit during. They told me I would be charged £60 for cancelling, I can not believe that amount of money is considered acceptable for a cancellation. Next time I will attend my appointment regardless of whether I am sick or not and it won't be my problem if the dentist has to deal with me being sick during the procedure."
"Nervous patient finally plucked up the courage after... too long... to visit a dentist. I registered with Grandholm thanks to a recommendation from a family member and have been regularly attending appointments since. Previously I'd have to be in a fairly decent amount of pain before I'd be able to keep my appointments but I've had pain free appointments ever since I started visiting Grandholm. If you're a nervous patient like am (the nerves are still there but I know my dentist is aware of my phobia and does her utmost to make sure my visits are pain and nerve free as possible, I won't post his or her name in case they are inundated with requests as I'm sure there are other dentists at the practice who are equally good with nervous patients.) Just be sure to mention when you sign up on your form if your a nervous patient in general or suffered from any phobias such as needles as I do. This was all during peak covid precautions too so being operated on in near full hazmat suits as my treatment created a spray. All this considered, I still make my appointments even when I'm pain free and I'm glad to have finally found the right dentist for me. If my dentist does end up reading this, thank you so much. You've saved me a lot time, pain, money and misery further down the line and probably a few teeth in the process"
