"I have not been to Budgens since before lockdown and I was very disappointed when I visited yesterday. A wall of bacon, sausages, meat and pies and yet I could not find a single example of a product that included meat from an animal that had any stated higher welfare standard. No free range. Certainly no organic. I could not even find anything with the RSPCA stamp. I know that it costs more but some people, including me, would prefer a smaller portion of high standard meat than a bigger portion of factory stuff. In other ways the place seems to have gone downhill The feel and layout doesn't have the almost homely welcome that it used to have. The two stars were earned by the assistant who packed my bag very carefully with the heavier things at the bottom. Thank you!"
