"The pub itself was lovely looking, the staff so friendly, welcoming and helpful! Would highly recommend for drinks! So why only 3 stars? The food! Although tasted nice was not value for money, the £15 for burger and chips gave me less chips than a happy meal, the burger meat smaller than a happy meal, less than a tail of bacon, ended up leaving half a roll as no meat in it. Had to go to the kebab shop after dinner for food, i genuinely think this place would be tops, as chefs know how to cook! Just need to scale up portion sizes, also maybe serve food on matching plates, bit strange table of 2 meals on random plates. It's like they want London fine dining tiny plates without being in london."
"Had an evening meal. Two very rare steaks. The chef had them out of the fridge to ambient temperature, then chargrilled. Fabulous. One had tarragon butter, the other had rosemary butter. The serving staff were very knowledgeable. Great experience."
"Have used this place many times and been quite satisfied but sadly this time the service was poor. We were told no turkey but later saw others being served turkey dinners!! The steak was not good at all. I asked for an americano with hot milk, the reply was do you want black or white? We had to ask 3 times for the bill. Clearly more training is needed."
"We had average service. No one there to greet and show us to the table. Food was not very good, 3 out of four of us did not feel good after the evening, and the next morning. Whitebait was tasteless and shrivelled. Overpriced, whilst l appreciate the cost of living crisis. Only choice of steak was flat iron at £27.00. Better food in Spoons."
"Nice enough pub with a playground and great beer garden. Food is fine but (in my opinion) a bit overpriced for what you get and the plating is …interesting (see picture as others may have different opinions). Weirdest thing was the waitress delivered our food and then told us we had to fetch our own cutlery, when she’d walked right past it to deliver the food - why the weird approach? (Cutlery also had dried on bits of food)"
