"Fantastic dry aged Irish beef steak with a lot of flavor that literally melts in your mouth. The tomahawk steak is a delicious treat for 2 people and the fried onions really add a nice touch to it. For starters we had the oysters, nice and fresh. And also the rib croquettes which I expected to be more tender to be honest. The taste was good but it was a bit dry for beef ribs. Last but not least, we ordered this chocolate delice dessert which was one of the best desserts I have tried at a restaurant. Definitely recommend this place!"
"Indeed Tomahawk specialty is meat. The place is fairly big and gets quite busy, particularly on weekends. With take one to each other, it can get quite loud. Also with no room to leave your jacket, you end up paying them on the back of the chair and stacking them up by your sides in the sofa. For starter, the sorry rib croquette was rather dry and served with a dot of mayonnaise. This is the third time we go there and we always love the presentation of meat pieces... Apart that this time the waitress was in such hurry we could not understand what she was saying. We went for the Tomahawk (for 2) served with onion rings, butter with thyme, fries with mayonnaise, and a salad looking for something light to eat with. Our meat was served medium rare as expected but rather carbonised on the outside giving it a to strong carbon taste. The sauces, fries and salad arrived 5 minutes after the meat. Unfortunately the salad was far too oily and, although ok looking, it was rather plain. The fries were quite nice, crunchy and soft with a light foamy mayonnaise. There was so much food that we had to take 1/3rd away. With a bill of 136€ between two, I would rather go to a special restaurant such as Forest Avenue making you rediscover food for €70/person without wine."
"Pros: Castello Monaci red wine was okay + Delmonico was better than the other steaks Cons: If you ever had a good steak experience in past, you will regret by going to this Steakhouse! + All of the steaks were burnt; not matters if you order well done, medium well or what + the corners were too salty + The quality and price are not aligned; too expensive for such a taste + There is no side, sauce or vegetables by default in the dishes; you need to order separately + The sauces were not good; just a little bit Garlic Butter was okay + Smashed potatoes was okay but you could taste the raw potatoes sometimes + House Salad wasn’t special or something + The meats were not cooked evenly; Well done had still blood in the middle Update after the owner reply: It wasn't and won't be our first time to have steak + Totally agree; your high standards weren't aligned with our high standards + Just to educate you a little on wood fire grill cooking, I've uploaded a picture of what Char-grilled steak should look like (and taste like) + Burnt food was not limited to just one part of the meat or one steak; all of our steaks and most of the meats were burnt."
"I noticed that the restaurant's management engages with customers on their reviews, so I hope they take my review as friendly advice to improve. The steak, sides, and dessert were all delicious. The coffee was fabulous. It's incredibly hard to find a place with proper coffee in Dublin. The waitress was very considerate, and I felt very well taken care of. Although the atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant, I would have preferred to hear some music in the background. We stayed at the bar, enjoying the warmth of the bbq's burning logs. Thumbs-up to these few things. They cooked behind the bar counter so that customers could observe the process. I had a good time watching it, but there were several major turnoffs: 1. I couldn't stand looking at the poor cooks with sweaty faces who appeared tired or dissatisfied with their jobs. 2. I was irritated that the cooks were not wearing hats (especially the long haired guys). 3. After watching all of the restaurant cooking videos, I was convinced that they were supposed to be wearing gloves, which they were not. 4. The shirts they were wearing were hideous. To begin with, never require a cook to wear a white shirt while on display. They get splashed, stained, and dirty, which is not fun to watch while you're dressed up for a date. One piece of advice: switch to black shirts. Also, ensure that they are neat and tidy. We didn't stay long, but just as we were about to leave, we were approached by the host, who requested us to hurry up because there were other people waiting for our spots. I'd never experienced anything like it before, but it definitely felt like I wasn't welcome. Overall, a pleasant evening, but with an unpleasant aftertaste (primarily from the host's request)."
"Love that you are “sitting in the kitchen” - you see the flames from the grill and the chefs in action. The staff is super kind and engaged in both the food and in the wine and we were very happy with everything. The food/produce is great quality and full of flavor, so we were devouring everything on the table! They made it a very special birthday experience for us, and it was such a lovely surprise. Essentially you get good bang for your buck; great food at a reasonable price, chill ambiance, really kind staff and great drinks."
