"Called today as I chipped my tooth over the weekend. The male receptionist asked questions about pain and sensitivity which I’m both only to be give the 26th April. I questioned the 5 week wait and told to put sensitive toothpaste on the area. I asked to speak to the practice manager only to be told she was on annual leave and to email the complaint. I ended the call and filled in the online request for the email address. I then received a phone call from another receptionist who stated that the complaint needs to be sent in writing and that actually they don’t have a practice manager when I questioned why the male receptionist lied she raised her voice and was extremely rude. This practice has declined in care and Staff attitude to patients. The management team need to take a look at the receptionist and ensure more training is provided as her attitude is totally unacceptable."
"Only required to see the hygienist but they deregister you for not having a check up. I pay for my treatments my teeth are fine so I don’t feel the need for a check up. Want me come back in March to register again. Nope"
"Rather poor. I got in touch earlier in the year as I was experiencing some mild pain. Took a while to receive an appointment and then got told it was only a check up and they couldn't replace the filling. Now having problems with it and they expect me to wait 2 months for a check up and then I assume the same for them to actually amend the issue. Currently looking for another dentist."
"Visited in early-mid 2022, agreed to have a filling and an extraction of a broken down root canal. Went back for the appointment, told the broken down root canal was OK to be left in despite being sharp and scratching my mouth and the filling of my other tooth looked like a peg! I was told that the filling 'may' come out as it was a big filling? Just five weeks later, the filling has come out completely and I telephoned to get an appointment for next week some time as it was Friday afternoon and I wasn’t in serious pain, just discomfort and my tooth very sensitive to hot and cold stimuli, and I am told that there aren't any appointments for a number of weeks and an open tooth is not an emergency - an abscess or pain are emergencies only? Disgraceful service."
"I first visited Shelton Dental Centre as a child with my siblings over 40 years ago. Due to working out of the area and Covid I have not attended the centre recently. I spoke to a receptionist today when trying to make an appointment to be told quite abruptly that I was no longer registered (despite being a private patient previously) and that I could not re-register or even be placed on a waiting list. If registered patients are to be removed, surely after 40 years I letter of notification could be sent out of courtesy if nothing else? Clearly long standing patients are not valued at this centre, neither is communication or courtesy if the person I spoke to today is anything to go by. My advise is to avoid this place, very poor customer service."
