"Great place to stay, lovely location, dog friendly and nice food. Sam on reception was very helpful and a big shout out to the lady who ran the breakfast service, friendly, chatty and provided Sausages for the dogs. Couple potholes in pub car park, hard to see at night. Definitely would recommend. Rooms clean and tidy."
"Checked availability before going with a party of 6 on a Sunday at lunchtime. Generous servings of roast dinner with a good selection of drinks. This place has been done up to a nice standard nice my last visit years ago"
"Wow, took a little road trip and headed here for a Sunday roast, warm welcome from staff, the roast was exceptional, fresh tasting and was reasonable value for the price. Breath taking views right on our door step, perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. In high season I would highly recommend to book."
"My partner and I attended the pub today with our dogs. The welcome, hospitality, and service was fantastic. However, the food, namely Fish and Chips, was not so good. The batter on the fish was tasteless and soggy. The once legendary thrice cooked chips had disappeared, only to be replaced by hard and over cooked imitators. Such a shame as the ambience and dog friendly setting was superb."
"We found this pub by accident but it’s a really good find. We were stopping for lunch and a drink. There is a good varied menu with lighter lunches and the usual suspects. We opted for one of the baguettes as we were having dinner elsewhere in the evening. It took a while to come and I’d finished my coffee by the time it arrived. We were sitting outside at the rear under the fabulous large canopy. Unfortunately, this is right next to the portable toilet set up which could be just a seasonal thing. The baguette was served on a wooden board with crisps and a tired side salad so a little disappointing. I always gauge a lunch by the freshness of the salad, if there is one. The contents of the baguette were fine but the baguette, while tasty, was hard going, very crunchy and we both left some. Having said that, it was well presented and looked appetising. The beers looked extremely good but I was driving so will have to wait for another day. Overall, a really nice place but food could be better."
