"I took my car in for an MOT and it failed on several things. I was quoted £880 plus VAT for the work, which seemed a bit excessive considering I eventually got the work completed for £350 elsewhere. I took the car back for the free re-test which then picked up 1 additional fault not even on the major or advisory list on the first test. The reason that was given was that a different person had done the test. Surely the standard should be the same for all vehicles that are tested. This now means I have to fix this fault and pay for an additional test when this should have been identified in the first instance. The tax for this car is due on Oct 1 ( which Is why I had it tested last week). Now I have a car which cannot be taxed and is not road worthy and potentially dangerous to drive with a young family. I would not recommend taking your car here."
