"Absolute awful customer service. Arrived at 12.05 on the 24/9/22. Went to enquire about times at the ticket booth. Person in the booth refused to answer my enquiry and rolled the blind down in the booth and walked off leaving myself and my son stranded. Shocking customer service."
"A single platform station located a short walk from Colchester town centre. There is some sheltered seating and a ticket machine, but facilities are very sparse compared to Colchester North. Still, there are plenty of cafes nearby. And you can always sit in the adjacent Priory grounds until your train is nearly due."
"Lovely walk around the Priory, Castle Park and past the Roman Theartre. More sight seeing than shopping but did pop into Primark. Recommend The Small Talk tea room. Definitely if it's tea you want. Every tea imaginable. Very nice lunch at Prezzo's. In all a very goid experience."
"As the name implies, the station is MUCH closer to the town centre than Colchester North is. However, the station could honestly do with some upgrades to make it feel a bit more pleasant. More ticket machines, seating and possibly bringing back the second platform to allow for a more frequent train service here as well would be of much benefit. Trains here head towards the likes of Clacton, Colchester and London."
"The whole train station need an upgrade and an update. Often there's nobody there to assist or help, and even the machine (yes, one), is not working or able to provide tickets. Lack of information or possibilities to purchase Oyster card - I believe this should be included or at least one machine for Oyster cards should be available as many commute to/from London from this train station. In regards to the town centre, there's the essential shops and boutiques, very small and the main centre is about two streets long. For someone who lived in larger cities and towns, this would be a slight shock and become boring very quick."
