"a working hospital it is what it is. This should be put under review. the staff get assaulted the patients assault each other . it is DANGEROUS and you don't want to go here and its hard always when people do. and news articles saying about poor care. However they have improved a lot in recent times. it’s not a nice place and its got some challenges to live with. lobotomies caused brain damage but they were banned other reforms are needed. ECT causes brain damage so it’s rare and it’s not advised well enough about. seclusion causes people to be punished but it’s not always easy and events in wards are often living with trauma doctors take advantage not at capacity means we are going to decide for you I think patients need more of a say in their care. COMPENSATE THE VICTIMS of violence in here assaults all the time on the wards. CLOSE THIS HOSPITAL THE BUILDING IS TOO OLD ANYWAY IT NEEDS MOVING TO THE NEW WARDS. The new wards would offer better quality of care. That being said psychiatric care is evil and always was so it might never change and is still dangerous."

"there needs to be changes to this and other units like it. this hospital should be closed and replaced by a modern facility the nhs buildings are badly out of date. there needs to be fundamental changes to this system and the whole thing is broken. they need to change modernise and bring standards up so that people who are repeatedly HARMED AND LET DOWN are helped instead. including the staff."

"very kind caring nurses though i was a bit concerned about the safeguarding Team jumping to erroneous conclusions about safe guarding at our home as a reason to detain my daughter who rang me every day begging to come home and to be freed...however the excessive quantity of drugs meant that she appeared zombie like and therefore in the eyes of assessors was not fit to be freed!! I feel that the psychs are creating patients by over zealous use of meds that are proven to cause movement disorders such as Parkinsons and thus the patients appear to be drunk and shuffling along and so look mad when in fact they are being over medicated........as soon as I got my daughter relocated to Oxford her meds were halved and she became fully compos mentis again and so was released form a detention ordeal......it just shows that a sane person can be locked up and never freed due to the huge amounts of drugs making them appear not fully sane....my daughter has developed a blood reading CONSIDERED ABNORMAL DUE TO THE DRUGS AND IF IT DOES NOT RECTIFY ITSELF WE SHALL BE SUING................. but anyway lovely nursing staff who are doing their best"

"This psychiatric hospital provides 24/7 care for those who need it, with nurses, doctors, occupational therapists and healthcare assistants on grounds to help out. The views are beautiful and local people often walk their dogs on the grounds."
