"I’ve spent the last 2 days in Clydach ward, Morriston hospital. I can’t speak highly enough about all the members of staff working there. They were all amazing and really looked after me, making my stay as comfortable and stress free as possible. Thank you all!!!"
"My 93 year old father was admitted 1 week ago with fractured pubic rami and fractured head of fibula . Tracey greeted us at reception who kindly asked to go around to minor injuries . The department was unbelievably busy 14 +ambulances outside and staff incredibly running around . We were seen in minor injuries and assessed by A wonderful caring nurse who sent us to X-ray . Again another nurse Julie was so kind and assessed my dads needs . Sian the A and E occupational therapist ( truly amazing individual too )came to assess my dad and was unsafe to come home . He stayed for 3 nights in the OPAS ward . They were truly incredible there also where he had time with the physio . What a fantastic and much needed service . He was discharged home . Unfortunately he developed a chest infection the day after and was re admitted via A and E again . The paramedics were more than excellent and was seen in resus by the Registrar Dr Kieran ( sorry about the spelling)who was so kind to my dad and explained everything ( same humour as my dad which made his stay more comfortable) The attention and care that my dad received in this truly amazing department was excellent. The staff here work under extreme incredible pressures . Please look after them . Diolch , Angharad and family"
"I came in at 4pm via an ambulance, following a fall down a flight of stairs, loss of consciousness and seizure. I have been waiting in the ER waiting room for 16hours, and still counting. My health has been slowly declining throughout this time. I have told this to all of the nurses. I have been dizzy and nauseous and asked for updates every hour, each time they tell me there are just a few people in front of me. They tell me I need to stay to get a CT scan but have not told me how long is the longest I will wait and have left me to my own devices in the waiting room. In 16hours they have given my partner and I a sandwich and a cup of tea. They will not even give me a letter to say I arrived by ambulance to satisfy my travel insurance. They keep saying to keep waiting. It has been 16hours, the sun has set and come back up again and I am feeling much sicker than when I arrived. I wish I had never come here. My head injury was 21 hours ago and there has still been no doctor to see me or even a nurse to tell me how to manage my symptoms. People are going to die in this waiting room. If your hospital does not allow treatment of head injuries within 24hours of the event and instead puts them in an overcrowded waiting room then you should NOT be accepting them. Self monitoring at home would have led to a better health outcome at this point. This will ultimately be my deciding factor to never again return to the UK. You need to fix this!"
"When I was seen by doctors the staff were excellent at explaining and follow up treatment was outstanding. I can’t fault it. However, I was waiting for so long. Altogether I spent 20 hours in a chair in A and E. It’s not the doctors fault, the place needs more staff, more money. I honestly feel nervous at how overrun the nhs is. It’s going to all come to a negative end. And that is sad. Doctors were fantastic. Waiting times verging on inhuman."
"Speak as I find .the staff all staff that I came into contact with in my brief stay in MGH with acute asthma attack were very proffesion and approachable. My only criticism is the very big problem with the ambulance service on a999 call Life and death situations we are informed there is a up to 7,hrs waiting What are people who cannot get to a/e are they to just die"
