"I bought a Skoda Superb from MSL just over 2 years ago. The car is still under warranty. This is the second Superb that I have bought from MSL all of which I have been happy with up until now. I have dealt with the MSL Service Department staff for years and always found them to be helpful. A couple of months ago the right front passenger side sensor developed an intermittent problem. At times the sensor had a mind of its own when pulling up to traffic. Despite the fact that there was a considerable distance between my car and the car in front, the sensor kept beeping for a considerable time even when the car in front was gone. This happened about 6 times in all in the last 2 months and generally lasts for over 1 to 2 days each time. Driving in any sort of traffic or even out of my drive-in (pillars etc) became problematic so I logged a call with MSL (it would not be possible to use the car if it was being used as a taxi). On the day the car was seen to (4 weeks later) they could not find a problem. However I was able to produce multiple videos of the sensor acting up. MSL have seen some of these videos. When I collected the car I was told that no fault was found and that the issue was not a problem but was a "State of the art". I asked what that meant and was eventually told that what was happening was a "feature" . I wasn't happy with this explanation and sent an email to the Skoda Service manager who replied and basically reiterated what I was told, i.e., that no fault was found and that the sensors are known to act up but they don't consider this to be a problem. This is part of the response from Service Manager : "Customer Statement / workshop findings : Failures of the parking aid PDC and park assist PLA. There are no faults stored in the fault memory of the park assist system. When the system is tested in the service workshop it works correctly. Technical background : Current State of the art Measure : Under unfavourable climatic conditions (rain, water vapours, low or high temperature, road conditions etc) the functions “parking aid PDC” and “park assist PLA” may be limited The sensors may detect an obstacle although it does not exist and sound an alarm. This is not a defect but current state of the art Do not replace any parts." I appreciate that when something is working it can be hard to fault find so I asked in a second email to the Service Manager that if I was to bring the car in when the sensor was acting up would they look at it there and then but he didn't reply. I sent a third as a reminder and again no reply from the manager. Despite the fact that MSL are agreeing that sensors can act up they are not willing to deal with an issue on a car that is under warranty. Most annoying though is the fact that the Service Manager is refusing to reply to my subsequent emails. At this stage I am now considering legal action to see how I can move this along. "Service Reception staff were friendly. The car was washed and cleaned with the service. A point of constructive criticism, I would have preferred to have been given the opportunity to replace the front brake pads at this service, as the advisory states these will need to be replaced BEFORE the next service is due. This would save the customer the time that now has to be spent arranging to send the car in to MSL Service Centre to have the brakes done in a separate visit."
"The staff at MSL Service Centre couldn't have been nicer. Very straightforward drop off process and the complimentary tea/coffee and snack facilities are a nice touch. I was kept up to date and sent a video inspection of my car too. Definitely recommend."
"For the past 6 years I’m bringing my car to MSL Motors for all its regular services. The customer service is excellent! Had to bring my car to another Skoda dealer for repairs this year and was very disappointed with the customer service there. So, while I had to move out of Dublin, I’m still returning to MSL Motors with my car as I find them unparalleled."
"This is my fifth year in a row and you could not get nicer staff. They make you feel at home and the services to detail in looking after my car is excellent. I would recommend them to everyone who might be a little anxious because you leave with your car a lot safer and peace of mind. Thank you so so much Billy"
