"Lovely place for a very high quality lunch at a value for money price. Excellent friendly service, everything fresh cooked. Lovely olde world atmosphere. What's not to like???"
"The menu was great, quality of the food and drinks were great, and what really made the difference was the staff were happy, smiling and attentive, which made for a very pleasant evening"
"What a Great little pub! Feels really authentic and the cooking tastes so lovely and homemade. Couldn’t believe the price as used to paying at least £18 for one course. Plenty to chose from and great portion sizes. Lovely that it’s dog friendly too. Nice cosy fire on and service also great. Will be back. Thanks alot for a great meal"
"We decided to visit for a drink in the afternoon but also had a look at the menu which was fantastic, so much choice and demonstrated proper country pub food. Booked a table and came back for 7:30pm. Table was in the bar area which was fine, I had the devilled whitebait to start (see pic) and my wife had the deep fried brie in panko breadcrumbs, both were outstanding. I then had the 16oz T-Bone steak and my wife had the salmon, both off the specials board. You need to make sure you go there hungry as the portion size is huge, steak came with battered onion rings, home cooked chips, peas, tomato, mushroom and we stupidly ordered garlic bread which was more than enough. I have never felt so full and satisfied from a meal. Overall, the bill came to £75 which included 2 courses each (both courses off the specials board) and a few drinks."
"I've only lived around this area since 1997 and have often thought we should come for a meal here. Finally did and thoroughly enjoyed it. Came for lunch with a friend and we both had the steak baguette. They cooked the steak to our preference and it came with a fantastic basket of chips and a nice salad. Service was excellent, really friendly staff. We saw other dishes come out and they all looked excellent. Make sure you have an appetite! Hope to pop back again soon."
