"So travelled from Manchester to meet a friend who travelled from Winsford as the reputation for this place was high. Walking through the door I was greeted by Nicole, with a smile and got shown to the table. She returned 5 minutes later to take a drink order. 10 minutes later my friend arrived and it was the same again. Allowed to get seated and Nicole took his drinks order. Once we were ready our order was taken and we didn't wait too long for our starters, which I had the cheesy garlic bread, and it didn't disappoint, once finished the table was cleared and fresh cutlery and napkins were placed. Mains turned up I had the carpet bagger which was cooked to absolute perfection. Once finished the table was again cleared and fresh drinks ordered. About 20 minutes we ordered deserts which again were placed, again with fresh cutlery and napkins not longvafter ordering. Creme brulè for me and sticky toffee pudding for my friend. And again, didn't disappoint. Nicole was very efficient, chatty and plenty of smiles, the other servers were very young, but professional and also plenty of smiles. It's good to see such a nice and busy place actually employ young generation staff. I would STRONGLY recommend a visit because you will not be disappointed I'll be back!! Eddy"
"A great place to go for a great meal. I've been a number of times in the last 13 years and it has never disappointed. The building is well presented, the staff are polite and efficient, the furniture and fittings are high quality, and most of all, the food is really good. I recommend booking ahead as they can get really busy but we stopped in on the off chance and squeezed ourselves in. They are a steakhouse so they pride themselves in their beef dishes but this isn't just the cuts, their burgers are also very good indeed, and the rest of the food always looks amazing too. Today, I had a lager - all options were from local breweries. I had a 'burger bleu' which was a cheese & bacon burger made with stilton. The pattie was moist and tasty and I could see whole mustard seeds in it so it had been created with passion. The bun was toasted and the onion rings were amazing - deep fried to perfection with a crispy batter around a softened onion slice, triple cooked chips and a small bowl of coleslaw finished the dish and for anyone that likes them, there was half of a massive gherkin. I don't like them so can't comment on it, I just left it. My partner had the roast of the day which was delicious too. She was served a very generous hunk of slow braised shoulder of beef together with a large but fluffy and soft Yorkshire pudding, some delicious braised red cabbage (not pickled from a jar as you get in some other local establishments), armadillo roasties (crispy in the outside, soft in the middle), chantenay carrots, a generous portion of mashed potato and some creamed veg and some yummy gravy with finely sliced green veg. The little'un had a kids meal with chicken goujons and triple cooked chips and beans which she also loved."
"Amazing experience. Staff were brilliant, knowledgeable and attentive. Food great, hot and delicious. The chips were brilliant. Just a shame that we couldn't fit a dessert in! We will be back!"
"Absolutely fantastic! The food is delicious and the portion sizes are great. There is also a good selection of locally brewed ales, and the locally brewed lager is lovely. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend."
"What a fantastic restaurant. We found it earlier today by accident on the way to Little Morton Hall and we decide to chance it for Sunday lunch and I'm so glad we did. The ambience was great and the food was delicious but what made it really memorable was the friendly, courteous waitress who couldn't do enough for us. Top marks for a top pub."
