"Brilliant chip shop, food was excellent also the staff were excellent, the guy frying the fish said they were in with a chance of winning number one mobile chip shop and it’s no wonder why… 10/10"
"I’ve conquered a fair few chippies in my time so I know a good one when I see one, I’d say for me best I’ve had in Stafford by a long shot but there’s not much competition in these neck of the woods. I do feel Stafford chippies should introduce the tradition of battered chips think we miss a trick here! Onto the food I had the cod special, tad expensive but I understand times are difficult but 10 miles down the road I can get the same portion and quality for a 5a Chips were slightly undercooked, the cod was in big juicy chunks very impressed, but the batter was too thick and stodgy need to be lighter and crispier seen as it was cooked to order! Curry sauce is one of the best I’ve had though All in all very good chippy you can tell there’s pride there 8/10"
"Just moved to Stafford & everyone I asked about fish & chips told me to go here. Glad I did. I ordered a Haddock & I swear I’ve never had a bigger piece of fish in my life. It was well cooked & the batter was nice & crispy on the outside. Staff are very polite & friendly. I’ll definitely go there again."
"Wow! This was well worth coming off the M6 for. Somewhere around London, we Googled ‘Gluten Free Fish and Chips’ on the route back up north. Thankfully this was on one of the two magical days that Weeping Cross fry gluten free. What a choice! Look at the menu and you will see you can enjoy not just one, but FIVE different types of fish (six if you include cod roe) as well as the biggest and yummiest onion rings I have had for a long time (even before I sadly had to give up gluten). The fish was delicious, the batter just how I remember it from the halcyon days before I had to go GF: crispy, light, delicious. The chips were good and it was all packaged and labelled nicely. The owner gave me a warm welcome and educated me on how come their chip shop vinegar is gluten free; this interaction also gave me confidence that he understands the needs of a GF customer. The true test is the ‘Few Days After Test’ and I am thrilled to say: all good on that front. I wish we lived closer to Weeping Cross - but perhaps my waistline will thank me that we don’t."
"First time here and I must say I was impressed. Non greasy chips and the fish was top notch and flavoursome. I initially thought it a little pricey for a chip shop but the quality of the fish and chips proved why it's not priced up like a big standard chippy."
