"I came for the Back to the Future Trilogy Marathon and I wasn't disappointed. Razor sharp image presentation, crystal clear multichannel sound (from the DTS HD-MA source), unconventionally comfortable seats. 6.5+ hours breezed by! I'm a bit of an A/V snob so it's great to see and hear a well calibrated system. Like yourselves all my kit is from Richer Sounds (albeit mine is on a smaller scale) and I've recommended so many people to shop there I've lost count. In fact my investment in my home cinema kit was born out of my desire to boycott the local multiplexes which had given me a sub-standard experience time after time - I got a better visual and audio experience at home. Before I get into the brilliant experience I had at Screen 22 yesterday, let me tell you a bit about the shoddy experiences I've had at places that should know better. The multiplexes. These guys love taking my money am I really getting the best experience? IMAX undoubtedly and any auditorium boasting THX certification yes, but what about the rest? Over the years I've arrived at the opinion that almost all multiplexes are seemingly set up and maintained by minimum wage students working their way through a degree in something other than cinematography and/or audiovisual engineering and are clearly not people with a genuine passion for the cinema (Not that you need to be educated in those fields to appreciate good quality). I've been to run down cinemas with crackly audio and dirty screens who've thought the best use of their profits is to replace the low cost display boards on the for refreshment stand with 16 or more 42" HD monitors to do the same job (sell extortionately over-inflated snacks and refreshments). That's fine, don't worry about the film experience, just make sure I get to order my popcorn in High Def! Other problems I've encountered at mainstream cinemas include but aren't limited to distracting things like ● not opening the curtains properly and incorrect projector ratios (I once saw a film starring "Sylvester Stal"), ● mildly vibrating projectors (scaling up to headache inducing erratic shaking of the picture), ● blown out subwoofers bringing you back out of the film everytime a bomb farts or a gun rasps ● the sound system switching back and forth between stereo and multi-channel decoding throughout the film ● drowned out dialogue as the centre channel isn't present ● 3D cross-talk on account of the use of cheap white screens instead of silver-infused screens (thus absorbing and depolarising the stereoscopic images (in passive 3D systems)). The film experience to me should be completely immersive, if I'm back in that auditorium for the briefest of moments during the film the trip was a failure. I shouldn't be reading the lower line of subtitles off the backs of the heads on the cinema-goers on the front row; I shouldn't be looking over my should to see what the 'digital warbly noise' is from the rear channel speakers; I shouldn't be irritated by a ratting air conditioning vent on the ceiling throughout the show... Anyway enough ranting about past shortcomings elsewhere, the experience at Screen 22 yesterday was flawless!! It was a memorable film experience in an imersive, comfortable and somewhat intimate setting. Amy (the owner, enthusiast and mastermind behind Screen 22) was friendly and welcoming; going so far as to make miniture trophies for us all surviving the marathon of three films back to back. Everyone there was there because they love film and one guest even made BTTF themed cakes for everyone who attended! I've been recommending your cinema to all my friends and colleagues at work today and I would encourage everyone to pay a visit to one of Nottingham's best kept secrets - Screen 22"

"Adorable little tiny cinema. Super comfy seats, decent audiovisual quality and friendly staff. There was even a choice of little freebie related to the movie (Avengers keyring, USB stick or badges). I will be returning!"
