"Went to house proud Mill Rd in May 21 ordered a leather sofa paid £700 deposit was told I'd have my sofa in 12/14 weeks mid August, August came & went no sign of said sofa as did September as did October as did November without a phone call letter text or email from house proud to explane the delay or at least to apologise for keeping me waiting so long!!, so come mid December and after 29 weeks of impatient waiting (not 12/14 as expected) I went to the Mill Rd branch to enquire about my long awaited purchase the manager told me the delay was due to covid 19 and assured me I would have my sofa ASAP! I threatened legal action if I didn't have said sofa by 1st January, hey presto the following day I got a phone call telling me my sofa was in a whare house in Armagh, I was also told that I couldn't see said product until I paid the outstanding balance in full! I assured house proud that under NO! circumstances was I paying the balance until I seen and inspected the product (call me doubtful but by this stage I smelt a rat) house proud reluctantly gave in to me and let me inspect the product which as it turned out to be wasn't what I ordered (big surprise) the sofa clearly wasn't genuine leather,( in my opinion it has to be said) sticker on the cardboard wrapping stated the product was made from wood metal & plastic, leatherwasn't mentioned which only added to my suspicions so I declined to pay the balance and refused to take the sofa. House proud sent me a letter stating that I was at fault for not taking what I ordered and that I would NOT be getting my original deposit returned. So potential customers of house proud furniture be aware of the pit falls of doing business with this totally immoral thoughtless and dubious company, think long and hard before you consider doing business with these gangsters!!"
"Honestly cannot rate Natasha at House Proud Newtownabbey enough. Made our purchase so easy. Felt at ease making a decision and so glad we did as ended up saving hundreds! The fab delivery guys brought our sofa on Saturday and set it all up taking the rubbish also. After being quoted £120 from another retailer for delivery, absolutely did not mind paying £20 for first class service. Thanks again Natasha and your fab delivery team x"
"A lovely shop and very nice friendly and helpful staff We bought a sofa and 2 chairs unfortunately when they came to our home the chairs had a fault we contacted the store and they replaced them Unfortunately the 2new chairs had the same flaw we contacted customer services and they suggested we go to the store and choose a replacement of the whole suite which we did we chose to upgrade and had to pay extra which were happy to do I can not praise the store and customer services enough would throughly recommend"
"Unbelievable bad customer service. Waiting on brackets for a sideboard I purchased which should have accompanied the sideboard. Approx 8 weeks later and numerous phone calls still nothing. Requested a call back from a customer service manager and all I got was an email asking me to be patient. I will never shop here again and I would ask anyone thinking off spending here to think twice."
"Would advise anyone to shop elsewhere and avoid! Ordered and paid in full for a complete set of living and dining room furniture. Was advised this would be around 2/4 weeks to be delivered (closer to 4 due to the current situation) this was fine. 7 weeks later after having to chase the order we received a text to arrange delivery. One piece of furniture was missing from delivery and we had to phone to find out why. No explanation except from "we have to get in contact with the warehouse and get back to you" Three days later received a text message saying item arrived damaged and they would be in contact to arrange delivery of new one once it arrives. Called a week later for an update as heard nothing and was told it would be in and delivered the following week. The week passed and no delivery, or contact for that matter. Went in to store today as phone calls weren't really getting anywhere and was told again they had to contact warehouse. Not even an apology pretty much a not my fault attitude. Received a text same afternoon funnily enough to advise the item would not be in until 19th November then they would be in contact to arrange delivery. Originally ordered 24th August. Would definitely avoid. Unless you don't mind waiting 3 months for your order."
