"Christmas Day dinner. Absolutely horrendous, payed in full just to book £300 for 3 people as we had an 85 year old with us who got a reduced rate. 1/2 the courses were missing even tho we preordered and prepaid. The food we did get was dry and clearly had been under a heat lamp for some time. No atmosphere as we were the only 3 people in a banquet hall and the lights were turned up full with no music either. The bar staff had music playing in their phones behind the bar which was stacked from 1 end to the other with dirty glasses. There were other issues with the food and service on top. After this I sent an email in which was ignored and I called myself 2 weeks later. I was promised a voucher for a 1 night stay with breakfast which never arrived by post. I am now being ignored completely by email as I have asked for a full refund. I would completely avoid any sort of function booking as I have 2 friends who have had really poor service at their staff Christmas parties in Christmas 2022 as well"
"Rooms are great but we went up for the Christmas markets and some chill time and the bar was closed at 9.30 each night. No atmosphere at all around it was totally dead. Luckily the rooms are lovely. We’ve stayed here a few times but will stay somewhere where the bar stays open longer than 10 and you don’t have to drink in the lobby and have to go looking for someone to order a drink from."
"On the 11/12/2022, I went with my sister to The Malone Hotel, which is situated on Eglantine Avenue in Belfast for my dinner. The staff gave us a menu & we had a look at it & told the waiter what we wanted to order for our dinner. The staff are very friendly and helpful. After we had our dinner, I asked the staff for my bill & payed via MasterCard. The Malone Hotel is well worth a visit & it is also a good idea to make sure you have made a reservation either online or by phone, stating your name & how long you wish to stay here for. The Malone Hotel is within easy reach of The City Centre. Enjoy your stay here, as it is well worth a visit. Stephen Acton."
"Stayed here a few times for work. The rooms are varied but the last one I had was enormous and very cosy. The cooked breakfast is excellent too, the food was good quality. However the continental breakfast was a bit lacking, better pastries and some more dietary options are needed! I had to ask specifically for non dairy milk (come on, it's so common) and no non dairy options on the table for yoghurt or milk."
"From the moment we arrived the staff at The Malone made us feel welcome and all went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Pierce, Jane and Claire (?) on reception, Maraine and Charlie in the dining room (breakfast) and Connor in the Greyhound bar are just a few of the young professionals who this hotel should be proud of. Our accommodation was large and roomy, the food was excellent and having a bar onsite meant we could relax in the evening after full days sightseeing. The hotel's location would be my only complaint (just a small one) as we had to use taxis every day to see the sights. Having said that all of the taxi drivers were very knowledgeable and gave us some useful tips on places to visit. If you need to get somewhere between 7-9am give yourself plenty of time as this is a particularly busy time for taxis."
