"The apartment was cluttered, outdated and poor quality. It was not as description on airbnb and the photographs were misleading and a misrepresentation. Compared to other apartments on the complex this was extremely poor by comparison."
"I feel deceived and extremely upset by the way I have been treated by Villa’s Away. This 2 bedroom apartment has been managed by Villa’s Away for several years and is advertised on Home and Away. I booked it as I have stayed extensively in Playa Del Duque, which is a beautiful area. I am not hard to please as I have loved every other hotel, villa and apartment we have stayed in. Sadly this apartment (in a lovely block) is shabby, extremely poorly maintained, dark and miserable. We have since found that some of the issues with this property have been reported 2 or more years ago on previous trip advisor reviews. The bed end is broken and the bed end sticks out both sides (so that you bang your shins), both TV’s have not worked for most of our 3 week stay and one is still not working in our last week as the tradesman said it requires some new wiring installing to act as a monitor to mirror programmes from the other TV. The seal around the oven is broken, there is no full size table on the roof terrace, (merely a coffee table so no good for eating). the second bedroom is merely a partition off the lounge so does not have a window and has a glass pane door with no curtains. The “utility room” is not a room, but part of the patio area with a bit of very shabby garden trellis and old curtain partitioning it off! We have had to ask for another sun bed (as one was broken), the TV digital box to be mended, wiring to be updated (there are still wires hanging out of the wall so very unsafe for children), kitchen light to be fixed and one modern plug socket to be installed so the iron can be plugged in as we were unable to use the iron for 12 days). We requested a second set of keys as we are 4 adults, but were told there wasn’t a second set. We had to ask for 4 non allergy pillows as there were only feather ones in the apartment. The extra king size bed only has a double duvet inside an extra king size cover and we have been denied an extra king size duvet by Villas Away so one of us has slept with an empty duvet cover over them. Even though I booked for 3 weeks and have had different friends and family staying, aparently I was not ENTITLED to a change of bed linen so I have had to wash and dry these myself all on the same day as there was no extra linen provided. One of the air conditioning units is filthy, has archaic wiring and looks as if it hasn’t been serviced or cleaned for a very long time, We have been informed by the new local cleaners that they told Villas Away who they work for, about all the problems they found with the apartment (when they took over cleaning the apartment for Villa’s Away recently), but Villas Away did not have the decency to phone us prior to our 3 week stay and offer us the chance to seek alternative accommodation. The director of Villas Away was rude on the phone and told me not to tell him how to run his company,, has since not answered emails and I have been told by his “customer relations” that we will not be getting any form of refund. I cried during my stay because I booked this as supposed “treat” for my family and friends who have been through illness and bereavement and I would hate to think of anyone else having to stay in this absolutely horrible apartment."
"Booked a villa through Villas Away - booking process was fine but when we had a number of issues (including safety issues) with the property, we were told the owners would sort out the problems. Despite calling a few times, the issues were not resolved and our holiday was impacted. Since our return to the UK we raised our concerns again to Villas Away and explained the property is not safe for young children. The unsatisfactory response we recieved was that Villas Away are only an intermediary and it's not their responsibility - this makes it pointless dealing with a company if they claim to have no responsibility and we might aswell booked directly with the owners. It is also contrary to Villas Away's website that promises that "you can relax from the moment you choose one of our properties as we will do the rest for you". We wont be using them again unless they can assist in facilitating a solution with the owners."
"I rented a villa through Villas Away and I can't recommend them enough. The staff has been very helpful and went beyond expectations in satisfying all my requests, they are always available for further information and clarification whenever needed, even on weekends. Will definitely come back again, can't wait for my next holiday!"
