"We have three little terrier cross-breeds and usually groom them ourselves. But as they were going to take part in our wedding ceremony we wanted to make them look extra-special. As they are quite sensitive we didn't want to take them to a salon, where we were told that we couldn't be with them so I started looking for an alternative. I am so glad we came across Debbie! The weekend before the wedding she came over to our house and spent a couple of hours grooming all three of our "niums", with me keeping her company in our bathroom and chatting while she worked. She clearly loves dogs and what she does - her attitude was calm, assertive and positive. The dogs were at ease with her and let her groom them without any undue stress or drama. Our girl Miggle has had bad experiences at the vet and has a tendency to nip when she's uncomfortable, but aside from whining while having her nails trimmed (as she's had painful trims before she is now a big baby about the nail clippers even though she isn't being hurt) she took everything in her stride. Our two boys also put up with everything without much of a fuss and I was glad to be able to stay in the room to provide additional assurances if they needed it. I was impressed how Debbie handled Smidgeon, who is a huge fidgeter and generally makes it pretty tricky to clip his quite copious mane of fluff. Bath-time and drying was also drama-free. Debbie tried out the industrial-strength hairdryer, but when she saw that the dogs really were freaked out by it she didn't persist and swapped to a less powerful one that took a bit longer but didn't worry them. I appreciated that level of consideration. I also liked the fact that she clipped the dogs first before washing them, which meant that drying was much more efficient. The whole experience was harmonious and the two dogs not being groomed kept us company too, again showing how comfortable they were. The result? Three gorgeous, wonderfully smelling doggies who stole the show at the wedding and almost upstaged me in my dress! (which is fine, I don't mind being upstaged by a dog!) I can't get over how amazing they looked, and Sevvie's tail was groomed to such perfection that it makes me smile every time it wags, even more than usual. I cannot recommend Debbie enough - if you're looking for a friendly, caring and gentle groomer you need look no further!"
