"Peter transformed the sound quality of my 1990 Pioneer record deck sourcing parts that were probably very difficult to get hold of , highly recommended and very knowledgeable"
"I brought a cd player in for a new belt but some capacitors were also starting to bulge. They were replaced with better quality ones capable of withstanding higher temperatures. I now have a working cd player that sounds as good as new if not better! Thanks Peter."
"Absolutely fantastic. Peter repaired my husbands beloved kenwood system. Peter is polite professional and most definitely knows how to fix things, even though the system I brought to him is some what dated. Highly recommended."
"TLDR: Wasted time, lost/ stole vintage parts, not responding to contact. I'm pretty devastated. On 12th January 2021, I brought Peter a Decca Radiogram which wasn't working which was was gifted to me by a elderly friend (it was in bad condition, but working when they gifted it to me. It had since stopped working completely). He assured me he could likely get it working. After a couple of weeks he asked if I could collect the chassis, and he would keep the inside parts to work on them. In February, I text Peter explaining that I was going to London for work and asked if he could manage the repair before then. From then on, he would avoid contact, ignoring multiple texts and calls. He finally responded to a text in June, saying he was having a little trouble with it, and again in July, saying he was still finding it difficult to repair. Always, when I asked if he could elaborate or give me a time frame, he went back to ignoring me. In September I was back in Cardiff, and my boyfriend finally got involved. After having an empty radiogram chassis sat in his living room for the best part of a year, he started calling Peter on his number asking what the problem was. Peter finally admitted he was unable to fix it, and he would gather up the parts for us to collect. When we tried to arrange a date/ time, Peter went back to ignoring us. When we still hadn't had a response by October, I text Peter to let him know my boyfriend would come to collect the parts that day, and he called my boyfriend (not me) immediately to say that he would drop off the parts himself that day. He did not show up. Again my boyfriend had to call him, and again, Peter said he would drop the parts off. This time he did show up. My boyfriend was at home and answered the door. He said Peter dumped the part on the doorstep said "Yeah, it was too hard" and left without so much as an apology. When I got home, I looked at what Peter had returned and it was only one part! The Radio part! He hadn't even returned all the parts! Thhe turntable (that was actually the only working bit) was not returned. I'm literally worse off than I was when I took the radiogram to him. I was furious. Peter has gutted my radiogram, left me hanging for 8 months, returned one peice (which I wouldn't even know how to reinstall myself) and lost everything else. The turntable he took wasn't even broken. My boyfriend again called him and asked what the deal was and Peter admitted he had lost the other components and he would look for them. Predictably, he went back to ignoring us again. I want to believe that Peter is just a incompetent old man.. Maybe he doesn't understand how phones work. Maybe he's forgetful and can't remember where he leaves his customers parts. But If you want my personal opinion, I think Peter thought I was going to London for work permenantly (I'm a contractor) and stripped my radiogram for working parts and sold them because he thought I wasn't coming back. It's been a year since I entrusted the radiogram to him and I'm thinking about taking this to court because I feel powerless to do anything else. What am I supposed to do if the man won't even talk to me? Peter took me for a fool and is still ignoring any contact I try to make. I've restored a bit of of period furniture before, and I spent hours restoring the teak veneer and brass chassis, ready for when Peter would finally come through with the repair. The radiogram means a lot to me because it was gifted to me by an elderly friend who trusted me to look after it. But it looks like it'll never work again and I'll have to take it to the tip. I would have at least appreciated an explanation or apology."
"Great chap. Knows all you need to know about Audio equipment. Fixed up my old technics amp lovely for me. Sounds wonderful now. Recommended."
