"I stayed only for one night but I will definitely come back. Everything is like described. . You got so a bed in the hut. A dry toilet. A solar shower. In front of you you can see the deers. I went on a hike and it was so beautiful you would think you are in a movie. The hostess is very nice. I burned myself with the lighter and she came to give a cream for burn. On the evening I made a bbq and a fire where I grilled food I bought in the market nearby. Honestly it is a very nice break from the day to day life. You only hear the hum of the highway in the distance. But it really is like a white noise. It didn’t bother me."
"If you are looking to get away from it all then I highly recommend the Deer Keeper's Hut. Unlike so many other places offering "almost" solitude, this place actually delivers: at the end of a long farm track with no neighbouring guests, no other dwellings even visible (I couldn't count a single artificial light visible from the hut at night). The only reminder that the rest of the world exists is the distant hum of the Motorway (out of sight on the other side of the wood), which I did not find at all intrusive. The hosts are friendly, helpful, and available if needed but otherwise leave you to your own devices & the facilities are basic and functional but clean, well thought out, and well maintained. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return soon."
"I has an absolute dream of a weekend at the deer keeper's hut. After a week of site-seeing my boyfriend and I wanted some peace and seclusion. This location was exactly what we were searching for. Despite booking the accomodation the night before (and making a mistake with the timing) Claire was an incredible host. When we arrived at the site, she let us in at the gate and led us to our private campsite. After that, we were completely left to our own devices (although there is no electricity at camp and our battery pack failed us, so we let our devices run dead). Nestled on the edge of your own private forest, the camp has a big double bed which was so warm and cosy at night, even through the rain. We were equipped with running water in the sheltered kitchen/outside area which was such a luxury, a camp stove, kettle, pots and pans, cutlery, cups, salt and pepper, and spray oil. A farm shop is just about a 5 minute walk through some farmers fields, and kept us stocked up on fresh orange juice, milk, eggs, and everything else we wanted for dinner. We wanted to stay secluded and quiet so we didn't head out for a meal, and we had enough fuel for many cups of coffee and 4/5 meals, and probably more. We also had enough wood for two fires, and camping chairs and sofa chairs to lounge on, including a little area of three tree stumps which acted perfectly as a table and chairs, and at which we played a couple board games that we had brought with us. The compost bathroom is also surprisingly good, clean inside and again with running water to wash your hands. There is an outdoor, portable shower bag, but we opted to use the kettle to warm up water into a bowl and to pour that over ourselves. The fields of deer you drive through to get to camp are very cute, and you can watch them from your camp if you wish to! There is a little bit of noise from the motorway but not so noticeable from the hut, but with the price and the privacy this is absolutely a great deal. I also enjoyed getting a honk from a truck driver that I waved at from the bridge. During our two night stay we explored the woodland, went on a walk between the villages, read books, and chatted. Returning back to London was not so enjoyable! Thank you so much :)"
"A fabulous location for a get away from it trip.. The owners are very welcoming, the place is immaculate and its as it says, isolation and a whole woods to yourself. I throughly recommend it to anyone fancying this kind of trip.. The walks from the hut are really good... Lots of off the road paths to follow. Definitely worth a visit!!!"
