"Don’t go unless dive is the feeling you’re going for. The carpet was heavily stained. The curtains were hanging off the rail. The shower didn’t work properly and sprayed out from the side. Furniture in a general state of disrepair. Bulbs blinking, cracks in bathroom tile. Generally grubby. Sheets so thin you can see the mattress pattern through them. Mattress is metal springs and you can feel them all. Windows are single glazed sash windows without secondary glazing. I was treated to the sounds of trains; boy racer traffic and the drunks of Leamington spa all night. I did ask for the bulb and shower to be repaired but no one came when I asked I was told it was reported. Possibly the worst place I’ve stayed ever. I will say the water from the sink was nice and hot."
"I wouldn’t stay again. Yes it is cheap but not cheap enough considering the poor facilities. The room was very cold because the heating was switched off, and the hotel did not have any spare blankets or duvets that I could use. They said they would bring me a heater but never did. The shower cubicle was falling apart. The bed was uncomfortable with prominent mattress springs. The breakfast was advertised as a cooked breakfast but was a poor continental breakfast as apparently there was a problem with the kitchen. On a positive note: Clean room, hot shower, friendly staff, within a short walk from the town centre."
"Where do I start? The room was tiny (the desk hangs over the bed and you need to climb over the bed in order to get to the window to close the curtains). The bathroom was tiny (I'm not a very large person and it was uncomfortable to use both the toilet and the shower). The walls are paper thin (I could hear TVs from at least two other rooms). There's no storage. The carpet was stained. The walls were dirty. The heating didn't work (on the coldest night of the year). The TV didn't work properly. And in the morning, there was no power in my room (which, I assume, also explains why there was no cooked breakfast on offer."
"Three stars because it was very cheap. This is not an hotel, but rooms above a pub. My room was big enough, but absolutely has seen better times (maybe somewhere in the early eighties) It was also not very clean, but doable. Bed was clean and good. Toilet was clean and good. The "funny electricity wire" that others complain about is the earthing and not dangerous :-) Lots of noise coming in from drunks on the street as it was saturday night. Lots of noise from the neighbours too, who were not even loud, but the walls were paper thin, i could even hear their kettle boil. Woke up several times because i thought they were walking in my room and/or using my bathroom. This room was everything but fancy, but absolutely doable if your standards are not too high. Bring earplugs and you'll be ok."
"Stayed here for a wedding. Very central to the town an the train station. Got the room very cheap for two nights (booked during covid) and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel is classified as a three star hotel, however when entering the room, the curtain rail and curtains had already fallen down and the shower door was hanging off. It is a very run down hotel. The carpet was not clean and the floor felt like we were going to fall through it. We had paid cheap for it yes but their prices doubled due to the commonwealth games and prices went back to normal after covid too but I wouldn't have paid the normal price for this hotel."
