"Quite possible the worst burger I have ever had, very cheap ingredients and the staff didn’t really care. My burger fell apart once I picked it up and was very small and tasteless. Very limited menu and no smoked meats just basic food that they can’t even get right. I won’t be returning as there are many places that are way better than this place. They need a decent chef that can cook!"

"If I could leave 0 stars I would… Food was absolutely disgusting! We got two burgers at £15 each, we paid a £5 deposit each before we even got there even though the place was basically empty upon arrival. Asked for no jack cheese on the burger and the burger was brought out with jack cheese, the waiter than came over and said she thought I’d ask for cheese on the burger as if I didn’t know what I had ordered. They then brought me a new meal out in record time of 3 minutes which makes me think the food is precooked and rewarmed. All I could taste was burnt food, I didn’t eat my meal so requested that I didn’t pay for it, however waiter said they knocked the ten pound deposit off and £10 for my meal, we got two £15 burgers and 2 drinks and somehow still paid £26 for food that wasn’t even eaten! Absolutely shocking place would NEVER go back. They sell better burgers in mcdonalds!"

"I booked 22 smokehouse for 9 of us for my birthday. I had to pay a £5 deposit per person for some reason, so that's £45 paid before we even got there. Bearing in mind this was booked about 2 weeks in advance, we were seated in the bar area rather than the restaurant. No idea why and no one explained this to us. About half an hour after sitting down, our food orders were taken. The menu is nothing like it was. No rack of ribs, no "dirty" fries, no mixed grill. Just standard stuff you would easily find elsewhere. Orders placed... barmaid comes over and asks for a card because of the size of our tab? Initially I agreed, then after thinking about it, why are we being asked to give a card? I've already paid £45 before I've even used my fork, now I have to give them my card because we've ordered food. Never had this anywhere in my life. The mains then come out and the waiter person has no idea what they're bringing out. "I think this is a classic burger?" " I think this is a blue cheese burger?" Well what is it? Where are the starters? Had to ask for these to come after the mains. The classic burger was like one of those Birdseye burgers you put on a BBQ that shrinks to a 5th of its size, with a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomatoe. The burger buns seem to have just been defrosted and collapse upon the first bite. That was £12. Not once did anyone come over and ask how our meals were, assuming they knew how rubbish everything was We couldn't wait to leave. Instead of enjoying my birthday, conversation was about how poor the food was and the whole leaving a card behind the bar because of a "tab" was such a joke. Drinks were paid for as they were ordered. It's not like we were sat there ordering bottles of champagne and not paying for them. This is not a "smokehouse", but now another generic burger bar that stripped down its menu , makes you pay a massive deposit, takes your card once you've ordered food and provides terrible service and poor food. There was 9 of us. We could have easily stayed and spent at least £10 or £20 each on drinks. But instead we couldn't wait to pay the bill and leave, and we spent our money in the Duke of York instead. We got a £30 discount on our £155 food bill after complaining which is of course appreciated, but wow, this place has gone downhill. The whole set up just doesn't work. You need to change your policy of taking deposits and assuming guests will do a runner as soon as they walk in. The food needs a massive rethink too, portions are incredibly poor for what you charge. "Food was nice and service good too. The reason for the rating is we went for a smokehouse. They might as well call themselves a curry house or a fish and chip shop, they sell neither of those things either. No smoke BBQ happens here. It is not a smokehouse."
