"I moved to Bristol in the summer of 2021, and rented a property with Bristol Property Centre. To say I pay a significant amount of rent per month, they are a constant disappointment. An example of their attitude came as such with broken blinds when I first arrived at the property, this was reported and the response was “that’s how they have always been” and “previous tenants got on with this” - this was not a confidence filling communication, and has set the tone of my time so far with BPC. Their maintenance reporting system often goes unchecked, and I have been left for months at a time with significant unresolved issues. Some of which, if not sorted by myself, would have been catastrophic. Whilst I can appreciate busy scheduling, poor communication, lack of contractors, holidays, COVID-19, and so on so forth, my issues have only ever been acknowledged after having to reach out to Kearney - who is most helpful, but nonetheless, this is still a very frustrating and recurring experience, and using the same excuses repeatedly such as “we tried to contact you” does not really work. It is a lot of effort on my part to remind this here tenancy agency of their contractual commitments. There were several incidents where there was a lack of communication. On one such occasion I rang BPC to understand why a contractor was stood in my living room to conduct an assessment without my prior knowledge. I spoke to Sam who laughed at me and said “you should learn to check your spam folder” - outrageous. I have since left this property and moved on, but I would certainly never use BPC again, and would strongly discourage anyone else to use them. BPC fit the bill of “Horror Tenancy Agency” that you read a lot about."

"I was a tenant in one of their properties. The flat was well heated during the hours that my flatmate are I were in the property(between 8pm and 8am) as we both work shifts for the NHS. A serious mould issue developed in the poorly insulated back bedroom, that posed a significant health risk to us. We reported this frequently to the BPC who did nothing but blame us for the mould issue. Their management of the situation was entirely inhumane given the significant health risk that black mould causes. I had to move out of the property to live with my parents as the flat was inhabitable. We had to threaten to contact an ombudsman for them to even consider releasing us from the contract early. The only advice they gave was to run the dehumidifier they had provided the property prior to our move in (a red flag we naively missed). The conversations I had with the director (I believe, Mr Day) were so unprofessional I was truly taken a back as his management technique. I would not recommend renting through this agency to anyone, especially if you have any underlying health conditions as they truly will not support you! I highly recommend CJ Hole in Bristol."
