Reviews
"Me and my 2 friends stayed over last night, we were very apprehensive due to some of the negative reviews. We arrived at 7pm, had a swift check in and was greeted by 2 friendly men. Checked IDs and we paid the asking £20 per person deposit (fully refundable on leaving providing everything is how you found it) then we were shown to our private 3 bed dorm. It is very basic obviously. Clean comfortable beds with white linen and lockable cabinets for personal belongings. We stayed out til the early hours of the morning but came back in with no problems. My only negative complaint would be the general cleanliness of the place. Especially around the public washing areas (toilets, sinks, showers mostly) there were random items of belongings left around and the floors were dusty. Other than that, we had no complaints. It is very reasonably priced (£32 per person we paid) which is brilliant considering how central you are. Especially to the night life. We were overall happy with our stay and we all said we would come again."
"Location was excellent, only a few minutes walk from the harbour restaurants, 15min walk to the city centre, and 10mins to the O2 Academy. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. I stayed in a private room. It was small, with just a bed and a side cupboard, but it was exactly what I needed, and cost literally 1/4 of the next cheapest accommodation in the centre, so great value. Bed was comfortable, and all the bedding was washed and clean. Communal bathroom was very clean. I arrived back around 12:30am after going to a concert. Was buzzed in straight away. Had a good night's sleep....no noise whatsoever from anyone else in the hostal. At checkout, was given my £20 deposit back straight away, all very quick and easy. I'll definitely stay here again the next time I need to stay in the city centre."
"I was refused a paid-for stay here on the day I was due to check in. Policy states for a group over 6 people special policies would apply. There were 4 of us. Before being refused, I was contacted by the hostel and asked a series of questions including if any females or students were in our group, therefore judging and making assumptions about people never met. Completely unprofessional to decide 1 hour before my flight and 3 hours before check-in that you do not want me to stay. A full weeks notice should be considered if you pull stunts like this."
"Very basic accommodation, no complaints about the beds or bathrooms but a fan would have been nice in the room as it was ridiculously hot. Rules are quite strict with regards to food and drink which was a bit strange considering there was no kitchen but it was right downtown in the middle of everything and we had no issues getting our deposit back. The price was right and the staff was nice to us, just follow the rules and you won't have any issues."
