"We booked two nights here in July and left after only one night. I do admit, it was a hot summer, but the nights were chilly (16°C outside temperature). The room was so incredibly hot though, that there was already one fan running in our room, when we arrived. We got a second one from the kind man at the counter, because it still was impossible to sleep. Sadly the second fan did not help too much. We could only open the window for about 15cm, other windows in the hotel were closed, so fresh air could not get this heat out. Had a huge spider running out of the bathroom and the toilet was leeking (see photos attached). After the first night we told the Lady at the counter, that we would like to check out one night early. She assured us, that the hotel would refund the second night that we booked, yet until this day we have not received any money. I would not recommend this Hotel."
"Struggled to find the car park in the dark and rainy evening but a quick call to reception and I was sorted. The room is small but the facilities are well thought out and make the perfect touch. Filter coffee or instant available in your room. Tea bag or loose leaf also available. Fruit bowl and biscuits. Bathroom smelt clean and had a bleached smell. Powerful shower."
"The hotel is not badly located in the Clifton area, near the university. It's also (for an extra £10/night) dog friendly, which is good. Unfortunately, it is attached to a bar, which plays loud music until midnight on a Saturday night (followed by post-bar noises), ensuring my partner and I got a poor night's sleep. The walls are very thin. The staff had no other rooms available so just offered ear plugs (which do little to counter the bass). Would not recommend."
"I got a good deal which included breakfast. I do not think I would be happy paying full price. It was during the hot weather, room was hot but I had to shut the window as on ground floor as I did not feel safe with people outside. Room seemed clean but was dated, bathroom had a large shower. It did not have a main light, just 2 weak spotlights which made reading and writing difficult. It had extras like fruit, biscuits and filter coffee. I was kept awake by people chatting in the hallway past 3 am on a Sunday and a strange buzzing sound, like a fridge except the room did not have one so did not get a decent nights sleep which was my reason for staying. The only good thing was that the vegan breakfast tasted great and I am not vegan. Breakfast room is a bit of a mess, I did not get a hot drink and there was nobody to ask. However the breakfast is more expensive than other hotels."
"Room was very small and tatty, room too hot, very grubby everywhere and a dirty sock outside my window. Very outdated with awful blankets and bead spread from the 60’s! Not a cheap hotel and paid extra for parking too, £120 without breakfast so would have just liked a clean, cool and well maintained room."
