"I know that vets do not work for nothing and are not in the business of giving away free treatments, however when a dog urgently needs seen to and the owners have a cash flow problem, you would expect some sort of assistance or a duty of care. Our 13 year old dog became very unwell all of a sudden. We didn’t have the funds available straight away to be seen. We contacted the vet at pets at home Linwood who we had just spent under £300 the week before with to see if there was an arrangement we could come to, and we were refused point blank for an assessment, unless we were able to pay that day. We contacted our old vets who agreed to see us and make a payment later. They had compassion for our situation, and advised that they were a vet first and a business second, and even though we were not currently registered with them, they took a duty of care over our dog. Our poor dog was in pain and if we hadn’t reached out to our old vet, would have been in pain a lot longer. I will never be back at pets at home Vets or store in Linwood. I am so disappointed in their lack of ethics, compassion and heart! They are more interested in taking your money and nothing else!"
