"Summary: Lovely primary school with friendly staff and an adjoining music school. Flora's is a busy council-run primary school serving the Stockbridge and Comely Bank communities from its Victorian facilities and newer extensions. Of note is the attached Edinburgh Music School where gifted children from across the city benefit from a specialist musical programme in addition to their normal curriculum. Also, the school hosts many after-school activities and a sizeable after-school club, so provides significant support for working parents. However, not all is perfect. The class sizes are large, the staff are clearly very busy and, worst of all, the playground is incredibly small given the number of children it serves. But, that aside, it's a happy school with superb staff, and both of my children have really enjoyed their education there over the years. Also of note is the school's very close relationship with nearby Broughton High School, which ensures children transitioning to secondary education are fully supported at all times."
