"Both my boys attended the excellent nursery and school. Both loved their time here. I can't commend the staff highly enough! Found them all to be friendly and approachable. 10/10 would definitely recommend to any mummies thinking of sending their children here."
"Nothing but issue after issue for the last 3 years since my son started at this school. Do not deal with bullying, children are not listened to properly and improtant information is not passed on parents. Important information about meetings etc is not passed on and someone else is always to blame, be it the assistant head, class teacher or office staff. They seem to prefer to sweep any issue of bullying under the carpet rather than actually deal with it or brush it off as if it is not as serious as the child is making out. (The issue of bullying not being dealt with is actually flagged up as an issue in the schools 2006 inspection report, the latest version I was able to find on the Edinburgh council webpage, it seems this has not changed.) Parents are not listened to, every time I go in to the school I seem to have to repeat myself until I am blue in the face and still I am not taken seriously. My son was being bullied in primary 2 and was seriously affected by this, I wrote letter after letter and spoke to the assistant head, class teachers and head teacher almost every day after school and nothing was done. Now they are calling me in and wondering why my son isn't coping with being in a school environment. Would not recommend anyone sending their children here unless they want to watch a heart breaking and slow deterioration of their once bright and happy child. After a long fight to try and make things right for my son at Colinton Primary I now realise I am doing nothing but go round in circles and will be moving him as soon as I can. Horrific experience and wouldn't wish it on any parent."
"I don't know why my previous comment has been remover....anyway. The nursery, not great, always changing staff, small, dark, needs upgrading, the outdoor nursery non existing. My son got mouth ulcers due to poor hygiene"
"My daughter has been attending this school for one year and we are very pleased with all aspects of the school. They encourage important values and make sure everyone is equal and respected. I won't hesitate in sending my son there also."
"My daughter (p6)has been attending this school since Dec 2015 (4 months) in such a short space of time she has had head lice 3 times and ive had problems with online bullying from other students and also problems with other girls in her class. She feels that teachers don't believe her when she tells them about things that have been said to her. The deputy head Ms McGhee has not dealt with certain situations with sensitivity and has called my daughter a liar in front of another pupil without any proof whatsoever of my daughter telling any lies. There is no clubs for the kids running at any time. The kids were told at Christmas they were to have a Christmas party. My daughter was pretty excited and dressed up for the occasion, only to go to school and watch a dvd in the classroom. There is virtually no homework. Playground assistants sit gossiping and playing on their phones at breaktimes. I have 3 children, my daughter attending this school being the youngest. Throughout their school years I have never came across any problems. Yet within the space of 4 months I have had nothing but hassle from this school. My personal opinion is it's awful. My daughter will be removed by the end of the week !!!"
