"Wonderful nights stay. Staff are great. Amazing breakfast. Beautiful gardens."
"Wonderful food, excellent wine list and a comfortable and warming venue. Well worth a visit."
"We popped in for lunch on a miserable day and sat beside the fire in the cosy bar area. Sandwiches were delicious and not overly expensive. We had a walk round beautiful garden."
"The gardens were fantastic and the garden staff does a tremendous job keeping it up. Hotel staff very friendly and responsive. Went there for lunch. Many parts we did not experience but would expect it to be very good. Golfers might be highly interested"
"An overnight stay at this venue following a social event there. The meal at the event was ok, the staff waiting on were very good. Breakfast was disappointing with bacon that had been either left too long under the heat lamps or had been cooked twice, very poor. The small tea pots uses did not serve the four guests at my table. Yes, I can (and did) order more but I had to wait a while until someone came in for me to ask. I waited for the delivery and the subsequent 'brewing'. That meant the other guests had finished their tea and I had to ask again for another pot, the circle of life!! The reception was straightforward and easy although check in at 1500 is a tad on the late side for me. Very expensive mark up on the booze, and the bar was slow on the Saturday evening. Rooms, public loos are all quite old, but that's what the place is about. However the wood windows and doors have seen much better days and need replacing. Bedroom was large enough and the bed was comfy, ensuite shower a tad difficult to get my leg over the bath, I prefer a stand alone shower not over the bath. All windows mouldy in the corners and surrounds, black and unappealing. Lovely grounds to walk around with well maintained garden. Would I stay there again? possibly, especially if at an event but it is way overpriced for what it is and what's delivered."
