"Not even a single vegan ready meal available. What a shame. This is a reply to your reply: Instead, yes, there is a need. And if there was a chance to put zero stars, I would have done it, as it's a shame you don't even have a vegan ready meal. We're in 2023, and actually, it's easier to find healthy and vegan food in supermarkets than to you when it's supposed you should have more healthy food. A while ago, you had a vegan ready meal. Now you have nothing at all. So what's the point? Instead of getting better, you get worse. Yeah, I've asked both people working inside, and they said we've nothing vegan. That's it."
"Decent range of food, beers and wines. Their samosas are a thing of beauty! Staff are fairly efficient but generally banterless, which lets the place down a bit"
"50p mark-up or so on everything compared to the big stores. But. Still very very good as a wee local store. I get sourdough bread here, rye bread, decent Irish butter, tinned fish, lovely ham.. great little lunch options. Cold meats, veggie cartons of delicious goodies, some frozen stuff, loads of dry goods. Fresh fruit and veg pretty good too. They had Scottish strawberry punnets recently for £1- such a bargain and really fresh still. Then there's a good choice of daily papers and magazines too. Pay by cash or card.. spatial distancing, sort of, limit on how many in the shop at any time. Parking difficult outside but that's CEC for you- making it impossible to shop in the city. They had double yellow parking lines in the bay beside the shop but i think someone must have made them erase these as utterly unreasonable which they were."
"I remember this shop from when I lived almost next door to it, over twenty years ago. Now I’ve been back, and it’s still just as good. If you despise good music and good food, avoid. Otherwise this is a great place, selling lots of interesting types of food and brands you wouldn’t normally get in a standard corner shop. It may not be the cheapest shop ever, but it doesn’t have the advantage of billions of pounds of annual turnover purchasing power to drive prices down. All this and and it’s open till 10pm!"
"I usually shop here rather than Co-op or Sainsbury because the layout is more attractive and classical music plays all the time which relaxes me. They also sell different and more interesting produce not available in other shops. They also sell low priced Co-Op branded items which keeps costs down."
