"Recently received a Xmas gift from a friend for our baby daughter. Unfortunately it was too small but she did say when she gave us it that there was a gift receipt that we could return if it didn’t fit. Went to the shop today as we only received it last week as the person who gave us it had covid and had to isolate. The item was still in the bag and the tags still on to be told by the woman at the counter that they have a 14 day return policy and that because the item was on sale ( which we have no proof of apart from sale sign on the window) they could only give a credit note for half the price that was paid. The woman then said this would have to be spent within 14 days from when we returned it. It gets better - the woman then said we would need to keep popping in to check for new stock as they had nothing for 24 months old. So even if we accepted the £25 credit we couldn’t spend it if we wanted to anyway. I’m sorry but this a total joke and such a poor way to treat your customers. The gift was bought on the 11th December so there was no way it could ever have been returned within their stupid 14 day policy. The person who bought it assures us she would never have bought the item if the woman had made this clear at the point of sale. I would advise anyone thinking of buying a gift from this place to avoid it like the plague. Even if your buying something for your own child god forbid you need to return and you get covid or have to self isolate. Their 14 day return policy is a joke especially with the times we are living in right now. It would appear this greedy local business is only interested in getting your money with absolutely zero after care or service for their customers. As a small business owner myself I always encourage people to support local businesses but I’m afraid to say that this one operates with no thought for the customer. If it had been bought from a big brand store it would have been returned today with no problem. Such a shame as I know lots of friends and family members including myself have shopped there many times before. Definitely won’t be back and I’ll make sure none of my friends or family get caught out with this dodgy company."
