"My elderly parent went to this travel agent to book a trip to India. Was served by Bindhu. She booked and took payment. Stated she cant not book air india seats as not open yet. She said she will let my parents know when it opens. After a week my parents went back again to enquire about seats and was told not open, alot of my mums friends had booked seats via air india already (free ones) via their travel agent, Bindhu was obviously saying no cant book. Weeks passed by, i made enquiries with air india directly and by the time they came back to me my parents were left with ucomfortable seats. They even said that the travel agent should of done this. Bindhu had obviously taken the advantage of my elderly parents and thought to do a short cut. I was very concerned and upset as had Bindhu said to my parents go online and you can book we would of done that straightaway but no she was not giving the right information from start hence we are in this situation. I emailed her asking for the owners email address after, she ignored my email. I called and asked for the email she gave me the details and i sent an offical written complaint: This message was sent with High importance. They visited your office on 13.08.2022, and tickets were booked by Bindhu. All essential information was given to her i.e wheelchair and meal information as well as seat requirements due to health and vulnerability. Bindhu stated that seats can not be booked now as its early, only chargeable seat can be booked, the free ones will have to be done when the airline open them up, which obviously is wrong information. My parent actually visited again 2nd time to enquire about the seats, still told that it cant be done as its not open, my parents friends have booked going after my parents date and the travel agent had booked there's with no issues. My parent said this to Bindhu on second visit but no joy. I emailed the airline and got a call back from them yesterday after 2 weeks chasing this up, who stated the availability and said it should of been booked when tickets were booked. The availiability was not much as they got seats 32e 32f on going to India and coming back there was not much choice. i had a strong argument with the air line, on this as my parent are left with uncomfortable seating's which is very unfair as Bindhu did not do exactly what she should of done. Had Bindhu said to my parents you can go online and book the seats i would have done this way back in August, but this was not shared. Just because they are elderly, language barrier and vulnerable customers should not be treated like this. I would like a written explanation and a solution to this as its very unfair and if needed i will take to the next stage of The air travel ombudsman. Look forward to a quick resolution to this complaint. If i were you i would definetly not book via this travel agent as they have a communication problem and treat elderlys as a joke. It is childesh behaviour and i will be spreading the words fast and taking illegal action as i am sure they fob other customers to."
