"Brought my super slim Sony PlayStation 3 console into Roy last week as it kept losing the time and date and wouldn’t sign into PlayStation Network as it needed a new CMOS battery. (It still had the original installed which was now 9 years old, and I didn’t want to attempt to replace it myself in case I cracked the plastic as you must completely dissemble this model of PS3 to even be able to get at the battery, and Sony don’t make this the easiest of consoles to work on at all!) I phoned Roy up the day before to see if he was able to repair it and I was asked to bring it in the next day as this shop is not at the time of writing, currently open of a Monday. I took it as requested the next morning and left the console with Roy for him to work on for a few hours. Later the same day, it was all done literally by mid-afternoon, and ready again for me to come and collect! Whilst the PS3 was in, it was all cleaned at the same time of any internal dust that had collected on the fans etc over the years and I even received my console back with all my game data and settings still completely safe! I was told during a battery replacement process that when you replace a CMOS battery, it can sometimes happen that certain settings/data can be lost as the motherboard is temporarily without any power when the old battery is removed. Although the occurrence of this happening is rare, it always carries that small risk. The PS3 once again thanks to Akita Computers, now works as good as it did 9 years ago the day it was originally bought and runs lovely and quiet as it also had a new higher quality thermal paste applied when it was re-assembled. Roy is an absolute genius and is 100% the best technician I have ever used! I will be only using Akita Computers in the future should I need any more console repairs done or have any future problems with any computers. Nothing is too much trouble, and his prices are very reasonable indeed. Cannot recommend you enough and certainly will to all my family and friends for any computer needs! Top bloke very highly recommended indeed! Thanks a million Roy!"
