"We had a lovely one night layover at this hotel. Bee, at the desk, was extremely helpful in making sure we had the accommodations we had requested. So lovely. Even as we were waiting for confirmation she put our phone on charge. Carlos helped us with nearby options for activities. We enjoyed the chat and our room was better than expected. Lovely people to work with."
"This is a nice looking hotel from the outside, especially for the chain, and the reception area is a lot more grand than you’ll be used to. It’s also nice for the rooms to have been recently refurbished and they’re a lot more cosier than I’m used to from the chain. Unfortunately though none of this does anything for the sleep quality which is some of the poorest I’ve had in central London - the walls are super thin so expect to hear everything from the adjacent rooms, and the proximity to the rail tracks is almost unbearable first thing in the morning. The noise and screeching from passing trains means there’s no need for an alarm and you’ll be keen to leave earlier than intended. I’m hoping I was merely on the wrong side of the hotel, so I’ll perhaps give it another go, but first impressions certainly prove the saying true of ‘don’t judge a book by it’s cover’!"
"As expected the location, is great. It's easy to get to with plenty of shops and food options around. Breakfast was quite limited here, I found I was better off just grabbing something from a bakery on my way out. Rooms are standard for a Travelodge, simple with stained carpets. The staff were friendly and helpful though which was a nice introduction. However the shower was one of the best showers I've had in a hotel - such great pressure! Quite surprised, especially for a Travelodge."
"Comfy bed, I asked for a quiet room and had a nice room at the end of a corridor with an inward facing window away from the street which was great. The only disappointment was I am gluten free and at breakfast there were no eggs, which are a good option for me - even just a few hard boiled ones would be good, and no gluten free bread. I stayed two nights and was told by the friendly breakfast staff there should be gluten free bread the next day, but unfortunately it didn't happen. Otherwise all good."
"It's very well situated. The staff is pleasant and professional. The rooms are clean and spacious. It is a bit dated and obviously if you face the main road it is noisy but it's minutes from kings cross and the Piccadilly line is great for most of the sites. Loads of places to snack and have breakfast."
