"Got a PCN when staying here, tv program Can’t pay we’ll take it away after me for £300. Never staying again."
"Nice hotel which was great value when I booked. Staff very nice, room a decent size for the price, although shower a bit small and walls could've done with a fresh coat of paint in places. Quite easy to find and really interesting old building with character. The stairs are a bit steep and twisty and there's no lift, so bear this in mind if you would struggle with lots of steps. Very handy for DLR station and bus station at prince regent (couple of mins walk) and also within walking distance of London City Airport and the Excel. Some nice areas to go for a walk or run nearby around the docks too. Quiet other than the planes taking off (which finish quite early in the evenings anyway), DLR line runs right past but isn't too noisy."
"Great location, literally a 2 minute walk from the Excel centre, about 5 mins away from City Airport and on the Royal Docks. Has plenty of free parking which is a huge benefit and bonus and probably worth a single night rate alone given it's location in London! Staff are friendly, check-in was a breeze. Hotel is a true 3 star so don't expect the world. Having said this, room are clean, spacious given the style and age of the hotel and beds are comfy. I thought noise from the airport would be an issue but nothing disturbed me during the night. My room (no. 11) had an AC unit (a must in summer) and a heater, hairdryer, and a safe. Hotel has a large beer garden and lots of indoor eating space. It does classic pub food such as burger and chips, pie and chips, salads etc. And all at reasonable prices. I only tried the apple pie. It's huge and tasty. But far too much for one person. Overall a thumbs up for this hotel!"
"Room was clean, and the bed was very comfy. Decent price as well. Was worried about noise that close to city airport bit didn't need to. The sound proofing was good and it was very quiet and plenty of parking.Only minor downside was the size of the bathroom in my room. Functional but very cramped ( toilet squashed between shower and wall). Didn't eat there as was out with friends but the food smelt good."
"The hotel was very nice, especially considering its location, although it seems to be geared more towards being a pub/restaurant than a hotel: whilst the staff were friendly and helpful, a phone call to reception took three attempts as everyone was working the bar. There's no lift and most of the rooms are upstairs so it's not great if you have mobility issues or lots of luggage. The room itself was comfortable, though slightly musty smelling and I had to request a towel as there were none in the shower room. Dinner was great, and unusually there was no extra charge for room service. Breakfast was reasonably priced and satisfying. I'd consider this hotel again if work brought me to the same area."
