"Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my life and I would give zero stars if I could. Let’s start with the arrival. Checked in by a staff member who was as thrilled to be in the location as I was. We had been at a conference all day and we really wanted a drink so asked at check in if we could get one and the response was ‘if you come back in 20 minutes because the guy has just gone to the shop’. We proceeded straight to our room 107 which was disgustingly dirty. Stained beds, a dirty bathroom, the shower was beyond disgusting. There wasn’t any toilet roll or towels in the room. We asked to be moved and was given room 207 which was at least clean I suppose. We then went out for food and drinks to arrive back at just before 11pm to what I could only describe as a rave on our landing. Lucky for us our room was situated between rooms of a group of young lads who were out for the evening - not opposed to them enjoying an evening but there was zero respect for other guests! Not only did they like loud music but they also liked to walk in and out of each others room all night long meaning zero sleep for us before another busy day at work conference. The hotel is literally situated on a Trainline too so if you like the noise of trains to sooth you to sleep you’re in luck! Overall, I will never be staying at this hotel or a Travelodge again."
"If you're a heavy sleeper who can sleep through constant trains then this place is for you. If not don't bother. As others have said it is literally a stone's throw away from multiple tracks that I could open my curtains and clearly see the people on the train. Leaky shower and slow to drain sinks sums up a cheap room. Not to mention the carpet stains... Don't even want to know. Good thing room had a heater I could actually switch on and warm the room to my desired temperature. Bed was not bad to be honest. Breakfast was meh. Only because it was included in my rate."
"Our room was good, we got a family room and it was spacious. Location was good, but the corridor floor was messy. The cleaning vacuum was on the corridor the entire time we were there, it should have been moved as the corridor was small so there wasn’t space for us to walk properly"
"Whilst this Travelodge served its purpose, I won't be back. The reception service was efficient, friendly and polite but beyond the noisy metal ramp to the lift, think building site or emergency evacuation, the corridors were dingy with exhausted carpet and my room, whilst perfectly clean and made up, was very poor. And don't get me started on commuter train noise! Again, there's nothing actually wrong for this hotel's function but it's now so out-dated, noisy and poorly located... but, I must say once more, the receptionist was very good 'front of house'."
"If I could rate this hotel a negative five, I would. DO NOT STAY HERE. Is the location good? Yes, it is a quick walk to Tower Bridge, and Tower Hill. Is it worth it? No. Immediately upon arriving, I knew that this place was not good. The outside is nothing like it looks like it in the images they have, there is an alley way in between some of the rooms where 'the homeless people live' but don't worry because 'they are friendly' as one staff member said to me when I said I did not feel safe. The reception do not both making sure you are who you are during check in, the key card system was broken, and overheard another member of staff on the phone to their manager stating 'everyone is quitting, no one is here to clean the rooms, we have no kitchen staff, I can't deal with this alone'. Furthermore, I had a staff member directly tell me 'you should have stayed at a premier inn'. My room after being moved from the alley way due to my safety concern was next to the lift and train tracks, all you could hear and feel was the train - it was so loud that the room shook and let's just say I had no sleep that night, perhaps it would have been better just to sleep on the streets. My bathroom had not been cleaned, there was pubic hair or beard shavings in the sink which never drained out, and it was just awful. I was so thankful to be leaving the next day."
