"Stopped here for one night recently and to say it was one night was a blesssing, first I'll give the positives the room was relativley clean, the bed was comfy and the guy on reception was helpful, now onto eveything else theres hardly anyone ever on recepction so you have to ring and wait, they then requsted they needed to take a copy of photo ID which seemed a bit odd, the hotel is serverly worn and needs major improvement, we were in a room at the end of a long corridor and Iv'e never seen carpets so threadbear in my life, after checking in and getting ready to depart for a night out there was a seriously strong smell of canabis whilst walking down the hotel corridors. While our room was relativley clean some of the furniture was broken, their were stains on the walls and cealing and the window was cracked in several places and it looks out onto some other rooms which I assume are occupied by staff or the owners, the bathroom door couldn't be shut properly nor locked and there was no plug for the bathroom sink. whilst the hotel seems to be in an overall nice area with what appears to be quite large Jewish population the hotel itself does not feel safe, some of the windows are cracked, the code is hard to work on the keypad and at the end of our night out we were just able to walk through the front door as it was unlocked, their were people talking loudly outside our room till around 1 am in the morning and then again early the following morning, doors also slam throughout the night, upon leaving the following morning you just have to leave a key in a post box, as we left a guy was coming to the front door of the hotel and tripped over upon inpection most of the paved pathway is loose or coming up and a danger, whilst cheap, it's a very tired and dated hotel and as somebody else pointed out should really be advertised as a hostel not a hotel."
"Our stay two night was fine. We didnt get a twin room we booked, but it was no problem for us. After reading previous reviews we checked in with the cleaning wipes and clean bed sheets and own towels. This however was not necessary, if you are not super picky you would not have noticed couple of black hairs in the bed sheets or like washed but little bit stained towels. The room number one was warmish-18-20degrees, on the ground floor, bed had a good mattress. We had some teas n coffees, soap, shampoo and working fridge. Bathroom was clean. The only thing to disturb was the noise in the house and in front of the house late evening until midnightish. We were able to leave our bags in the house prior to the checking, which was nice and our experience with the receptionist was fine."
"Enjoyed my stay a lot. Comfortable room. Front desk was very friendly & helpful, especially Ricki. Great location close to tube and shops nearby, value for money."
"We stayed in the hotel the night before the Queen's funeral and had to check in late due to queueing for the lying in state. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and said that he would stay later if we were going to be arriving after midnight. The room was of reasonable quality and very keenly priced."
"Poor on every level! The bed sheets were very damp… We spoke to reception and the cleaner handed over new sheets and expected us to replace them ourselves. The bathroom door got jammed, and we couldn’t use our bathroom. The bed is broken in the middle and has a dipped mattress. The clock doesn’t work, the TV doesn’t work and the room smells like sick. I wasn’t expecting anything posh for the price, but a tent would have had better working facilities than this. It needs a complete renovation and a clean!"
