"Started calling at 7.45am using 2 handsets. At 8am both calls got cut without being answered. Been waiting in a queue since 8.03am, being told "to hold" - message says there are 4 other people ahead of me. Surely it doesn't take 1 hour to answer 4 calls? This new system is TOTALLY BROKEN."
"All the staff at Rydal are attentive and helpful. I am always able to receive the care I need as long as I call at the designated times. Many thanks to Dr Newman for always being a fantastic GP."
"The appointment system is terrible. You queue up, the line disconnects and then you call back and the slots have gone. Doctors aren't particularly good either at times..I would expect more and definitely could be more professional and competent."
"We all know the NHS is totally broken and unfortunately this GP practice is a prime example of just how broken. It's gone way past incompetence, it's now extremely dangerous. The reception staff are exceedingly rude and jumped up. Some of the doctors just want to get rid of you, one in particular keeps encouraging you to go to A&E, I guess they haven't experienced A&E lately!!!! In the now 8 weeks of pain that I have been in I have spent a total of 5 hours waiting for someine to answer the phone, at all different times of the day. I've been to A&E twice, had tests in hospital (urgent) with no way of getting results and an xray that I had to pay for privately, again no one seems to want to give me results! Still in alot of pain, no one seems to care!"
"The appointment system is ridiculous. You have to phone up every day first thing in the morning and first thing in the afternoon. If by some miracle there is a slot free that day, the doctor will phone you back, at an undisclosed time. Obviously this is inconvenient if you are at work. If there's no appointment (almost certainly there won't be, because everyone else is in the same situation), then keep phoning. Hold times are typically half an hour. That is if they even pick up. Today I phoned 5 times, and was hung up on the first four times. When you get through, be prepared for officiousness to the max, and to run a 10 minute gauntlet of questions and attempts to deflect you from seeing the doctor. Stay strong and you may eventually get to speak to one of the doctors. No complaints about the doctors. They seem good."
