About the Business
Welcome to Wild Discovery! Our institution is located within the beautiful Ribby Hall Village, an idyllic setting that provides the perfect backdrop for your day out. As an establishment and tourist attraction, our aim is to provide a memorable experience for all of our visitors, one that is both educational and entertaining.
At Wild Discovery, we take great pride in our status as a zoo. We believe that it is our responsibility to care for and protect the animals of our planet, and we strive to do this by creating a sanctuary where our animals can thrive. With over 30 different animal species to discover, there is something for everyone at our zoo.
At the heart of our institution is a passionate team of animal handlers and experts who are responsible for ensuring that our animals are happy, healthy and safe. As you make your way around the zoo, you will have the opportunity to learn all about each animal species, their habitats, natural behaviours and the conservation efforts taking place around the world.
Our institution is particularly proud of our unique walk-through exhibits, where visitors can experience a truly immersive encounter with some of our animals. Walk through the Lemur Wood and experience the thrill of being surrounded by these active and inquisitive primates. Or wander through our Rainforest and witness incredible creatures such as our green iguanas and macaws up close.
We know that families are an important part of our visitors, and we strive to cater for all ages with a variety of exciting activities and educational talks. Our Little Keepers programme is perfect for children between the ages of 5-15 who would like to learn more about working with animals. With sessions such as Meet the Keeper and Junior Zoo Keeper, your child can learn and help out with our animals!
Our institution is open all year round, making it the perfect destination for your school break or family day out. We look forward to welcoming you to Wild Discovery and sharing our passion for wildlife with you.

Reviews
"A small zoo. Lots of meet and greet talks. The two we went to (the reptiles and birds of the world ) where a little short of creatures. One small python and 3 species of birds. The birds and the talk was quite interesting if not a little short. Was very perturbed to see Albert the three banded armadillo in a tiny, tiny little room. Great well maintained pathways, some ongoing renovations. Certainly worth a visit if staying at Ribby Hall holiday park."
"Visited with my partner and toddler. Great small zoo with plenty to see, ample seating near entrance for breaks to be taken, small gift shop that also sells refreshments at the entrance also. Cheap entry, opportunities to feed some animals for a small price. Over all great for a couple hours out."
"Really great place with lots of friendly staff and interesting talks. Much smaller than zoos such as Chester zoo but it was quieter and it made seeing everything much easier to enjoy. Taking pictures and watching displays, it's probably a 2-3 hour adventure. It's quite small and compact, really positive vibes though. We did the capybara experience and it was amazing. Very great value, lovely staff and the capybara were amazing and friendly up close. Lots of great pictures and memories."
"What a lovely little find! Really reasonably priced, and all the animals looked well cared for and happy. We finally got to actually see Scottish Wild Cats...and there were some animals there we never even knew existed! It's not a huge place, but great for a couple of hours. Though there is food available on the Ribby Hall site (you could leave and come back again if needed) there was nowhere actually to get food inside the zoo itself but there was a little area to eat a picnic."
"We loved our visit and was our first experience at seeing a crocodile! Great placement with an adjoining gift shop at the exit, a large selection of toys and plushies. There's a swimming pool, soft play area, Papa John's, coffee shop, convenience store and other facilities within a walking distance too. Staff were really friendly and informative, answering any questions we had. Great time had by all, even in the cold!"
